I hear ya Paul. I spent the day yesterday splitting and debarking black locust. I'm going to speed dry one so I can make something sooner.

I worked on another billet, and found this in there from where I had scraped it down almost a month ago.  I think these things like me.

But I won in the end

Charlie, they are good eating. Slow fried in butter and fresh garlic with hot peppers and beer.

I was thinking of putting the all in a jar, worms and the wasp, and finding some of that clear water at the classic, and calling it "Virginia Wasp Juice".  think it would sell?

No ya should call it  "Virginia Wasp Orange Juice".  :)

That would work too.  And maybe ever "Virginia Tequila"???

Lots of protein in those little critters - eat up!

I've been lucky so far and have avoided them.

Been a busy couple days for me.  Got lots accomplished.  Worked on four bows and did some prep work for upcoming bows.  Cut some ERC veneers.  I will work around the knots.

Yep kenny all the boards are purple tint to them and not red.  This is from a cedar I cut down in Nebraska two years ago its just been sitting around here drying.  Finally cut into it.

I noticed another Trad Gang guy posting that lived in my general area. When I contacted him through a PM it turned out he only lived about 5 miles from me.

Darin Putman, real nice guy. We set up a meeting for the grand tour of Eric's selfbow/flintlock building facility. He came over and spent a couple hours, a real enjoyable meeting.

Pretty new to traditional archery, he has been bitten by the bug real bad, ready to start cutting trees and making selfbows. I can tell he has what it takes to jump in with both feet and start cranking out bows.

One other thing, I planted my paw paw patch in the clearing I made a few days ago.

I have seen very few deer in my woods this year. The place I cleared was covered up with tracks so they are still here, just nocturnal more than likely.

Swissbow

Finished two bows and gave 'em to some friends of my buddy Roland...

Glued up a tri lam tonight, Bamboo back, Tapered Red Cedar core lam, and Osage belly. My first tri lam. Induced a tad more deflex on this bow than I have on just BBO bows. Wow do tri lams ever bend down easier at mid limb than 1/2 thick Osage belly slats:)
