Thanks, guys. It's all good. UAMS is a very good hospital and the doctors are great.

Nate, Keep your buds spirits up. I hate to loss an animal as well. I've searched for hours after others have given up. Usually it pays off. Hope it does for you all, as well.

Keenan

Stand great to see you are on the mend. Take it easy, there is always another hunting season, but if you over do things it might be a rough ride. Speakig from experience!

Man we hands and knees it around the spot he said he hit it.  No blood that I could see (and I am not rookie at blood trails even without taking a big game animal myself) and no arrow shaft or anything. His dad swears he saw the arrow hit but...he said maybe a bit far back...maybe just a pass through in the diaphragm area?  Hard to say without actually being there with them.  Hope it goes better for him this weekend while my son and I try to go bust some grouse and pheasants.

Roy, I nearly fell off my seat when I saw that picture! It has to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen.  :scared:    :scared:    :scared:
I keep laughing when I think of it trying to fly with that head weighing it down, and drool dripping on everything below.

Today I retired my old Dodge and got me a new American classic to haul bow wood and bows and maybe even a deer.

It aught to have room for a couple of longbows inside.  :bigsmyl:

Today was a good day in the elk woods. Seen to bulls fighting in an off limits area. Then this evening we talked to a spike for about 10 minutes. The poor fellow did not know what we were.

My partner would bugle I would cow call and rub my bow on a tree and he would just creep forward just a bit or walk in a circle. Heck we stood up and walked out and he just watched us.

I only have a cow tag and my partner has the bull tag but he wants something a bit bigger.

It was a thrill though. Just a matter of time before I get a chance at one. The only problem is I only have about one more weekend of archery for elk.
