Any finger pullin' goin on, Roy?

I put field points on a dozen doug fir arrows I finished a week or two ago.  Thought about changing to a lighter tip due to some erratic arrow flight...but then next three shots were on the money.  So glued them all up...

checked Stus Dynamic Spine calculator....and figures...it recommends I go down to 160 grain field points as I intended.

Shot one of the old ones and one with the lighter tip....everything equal the newer setup is more consistent. LOL  Figures...

Guess tomorrow I will be heating and re-mounting lighter field points. LOL

We are set to get anywhere from three to six inches of snow tomorrow so I pulled some black locust staves out to debark and cut out and stocked up on firewood. Bring on the snow.

I'm still trying to figure out if I get on here for the knowledge or the humor.  At any rate, I like it.  It's raining cats and dogs here in Georgia so instead of turkey hunting I will be tillering the Ipe flatbow I glued up a few days ago.

Learned from some guy named Roy and a couple others on a different thread last week that shelf's are not meant for stick bows.  So I am still digesting that one.  All my stick bows have had a shelf, but I like some of the slim shelfless risers I have seen on here.

Who is this Roy fellow I keep hearing about?

We had fun yesterday in the shop, got two bows tillered out on the tree and another almost ready for the tree. John brought two hoagies that were 2 foot long, damn they were good but all gone now:)

Here is Joe with his first ever bow build. Man what a difference those roller bearings make on the band saw. Cuts so nice and straight.

Roy, looks like all were having a good time.  Is that sunshine I see coming through the windows?  I don't know if it is going to ever be spring here in northease Arkansas or not.

Put a new saw blade on my bandsaw and adjusted the guides.  Sure cuts better when everything is where it is supposed to be.

Roy from Pa

Yes it is sunshine, yesterday wasn't too bad, got up to 40. 43 now but there is supposed to be a good storm heading our way about midnight tonight. So here we go again..

kennym

Roy, I sent the storm on yer way buddy!

This one was sposed to dump 6-10 on us, but the ground was warm, only have a couple inches left on ground and no drifting!  :jumper:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I'm so sick of winter and snow.  This time last year, my wife was hounding me to start cutting the grass and I simply refused to cut the grass before April.  On April 1st last year I cut the grass.  Won't have to worry about that this year.

We have 12 inches of snow here so far and supposed to get a few more before its all said and done. I spent the day in the shop chasing rings on black locust and working on pearlies bow. I got it roughed out and just starting to bend. It's wind checked to hell so I'm not holding my breath and I've got another couple in the works just in case.

I don't mind the snow if I'm home. But snow really makes me a lot more work on the job. So thanks Mr. McKenzie...   :knothead:    :bigsmyl:
