Bowyer's ruler

 Anyone know where I can find a bowyer's ruler? Looking and just can't seem to find one.  Thanks for any help.

I'm too old to be shy... I'm gonna stand right up and admit ignorance...   What the heck is a bowyer's ruler?  Good golly!  Is there a tool I don't have?!!   I'm warming up the car.....  Rockler closes at 6....

It is a plastic ruler, see through with measurements on it so you can mark out a handle and fades and such.  Neat tool, just can't seem to find one.  I know someone who has one will have to see what he says.

Dick it nothing more than a centering ruler 0 in the center and then to left and right 1/8 inch increments out to 6 inches.
The "Ferret" ,when his web page was going would send you one if you would send a envelope with postage to him.

Let me look around I've got some extras some where, I mean put up in safe place so they won't get lost. If I can just remember where I put them.

OK, I found it.  If anyone wants it, PM me your  email address  and I will send it to you.  I just print it out on regular paper, cut them out, and laminate them.

Here is what it looks like.  It is very handy when laying out bow dimensions on a stave.  If you print the file on standard size paper, the measurements will all be correct.

Could somebody please explain what the other side is for? Is there one for longbow and one for recurve?

One side has limb widths and nock placement, and the other side has handle and fade lengths and handle and tip widths.  Once you have a center line down the stave and the length center marked, it is very easy to use.

Ok... I have a centering ruler that's 18" and use it all the time.  It's steel but I don't really need the see through thing or special markings, as I know the measurements I use.   I like the 18" length as I use an odd riser blank pattern I call an "overpass", that serves for either my forward riser deep locator model or a standard longbow riser.  My risers can run from 16" to 18" and I use the center finder to set the exact center of the riser for either model, or to slide down to set the 4 1/2" top flat surface I use if I'm going to grind the overpass off for a standard riser.  Neat tool.  They're commonly available at upholstery supply shops, and probably on the internet if you google for "center finding ruler".  I got mine from my wife when she bought a new one for her business.
