Wow, this has become a very interesting thread. I'd never have thought back in Jan of 2011 it would have become this large.    :wavey:
Thanks everyone.

Howard left us quite the gift, an elaboration of the simple. Not so that we can become frustrated that we can't hit 'em like he did, but to show that even with limitations such as, no carbon, no aluminum, and in his earlier years no fiberglass! one can still hit pitched change out of the air!
To think of all the advancements in technology incorporated in bow design. Carbon, glass, Dymondwood, D/R, super-flex action wood, phenolic, FF-strings, CNC, Lazer straight arrows, etc... etc...
We don't see anyone slip shooting, {not snap shooting} the string and hitting like he did.
Myself included.

Charlie,

thanks for your answer.
What's the depth of your grip?

Mine are 3 3/4" to 4" in length and a tad less then 2" in depth, but i have small hands (glove size "S").
Yours looks much more in depth (guess 2.25" to 2.5")?

Thanks Stan, and I have been shooting your hill very well. Just about got me a robin hood the other day it did everything but split and even pushed the arrow out the backside of the block.

Turkey season is getting close Charlie    :bigsmyl:    and I can't wait. I got in a couple weeks of trapping beavers and have several tails and I plan on tanning them out for handle wraps.

I am meeting up with Americanhunter7 for a St Jude pheasant hunt this weekend.

This will be my 1st hunting trip with my new Sunset Hill (In the name of the father, "I AM").

Larry Surtees is also coming and we all know that one of Larry's loves is bow fishing so we've been told that we will hopefully squeeze in some of that as well.

How well do you think this set up will work for sticking a few fish?

God bless,Mudd

PS: Nate I am just kidding...lol If you look in the end of my bow case you'll see my bow fishing bow...lol

I will definately be bringin' it to hunt with down at the Hill Longbow hunt Darren! Hence the wild boar inlay, a remembrance of the hunt so to speak. This is my first string follow longbow as well as my first custom bow. I've owned tons of bows but this is my first custom. It's fitting it should be a Howard Hill, very, very excited! J

I have a distinct problem whereby I view this thread, see pics of awesome bows guys have just received and then start planning another purchase even though I've bought 3 Hill style bows in the past 4 months...... You guys really aren't helping me save up for that Randall 25 I've been wanting! Lol
