Ben,
I too could not help myself. I have made a vow not to get a new bow untill I settle my anchor down and master the two NM I have. And once my B.A. Is done I am ordering one.

So untill then,   I'll live vicariously thru y'all!!! Have fun and I'll try to come up with ideas for YOU to buy. Ha

with bocote riser, can you tell it is a two-piece?

Shoots pretty good too!

JohnHV,
I don't know you....but I have no use for you sir!!!....
Your irresponsible posting and its ilk is what leads impressionable archers like myself to revisit the time and soul consuming Howard Hill Style over and over again...much like any addict...we never are fully recovered....like a late night beer advertisement...your posting of your obviously loveley bow...will catch us at a vulnerable moment and lead those (us....me...) "weak of will" to once again seek some archery high through "nocking on top" and hoping that through a smooth swing draw we will some how loose the arrow that will free our soul from its earthly burdens and accomplish the "perfect" flight and shot.  :)  LOL!!!
Seriously...... Very Sa-weeeet!!!!! Shelton!!!!  :)  LOL!!
Have a nice day!

this may have been thrown around before as an idea ...

[ apols Brian after your last post !]

[ much like Dick Wightman did way back when ...]

JohnHV,

I'm obviously incurable!!  :)

Yes.  Our mate down under has no sense of mercy  :)

Ohhhhh....what those Ekins do with yew and juniper is quite intoxicating....  :)

I'd have to sell something off...but I like the TG Edition HH idea  :)  !!!
Have a nice day!

I believe I brought up the TRADGANG HIll bow idea about page 300 and something.  I am in.  I think it would be great, might even have the Hill broadhead on the side like Dick's longbowman choice bow.

Not that I have the funds but a classic style would be cool. A Tembo with aged white belly and a dark green glass back. Since nostalgia is a constant theme with this thread why not a classic look?

David Mitchell

Bic, green glass is hard to come by unless you get a bow from either Northern Mist or Great Northern.  They went together and had a full production run of green glass from Gordon with the understanding that they would not sell just glass.  If you want green glass you have to go to those guys for the bow.  By the way, have you seen my green glass NM Shelton?  I'll have it at the Elk River Bowhunters shoot Saturday if you come.

Ben, I actually have a hankering for a brown glass back and aged white belly. I am a lover of colored glass bows--takes me back to my earlier days!

David ... I don't think I even saw clear glass on a bow until maybe 1998 or even 2000 ...

we are a bit behind the times down here .....

Bic .... Dave's green glass Shelton is one of the sweetest bows I have seen . If I remember rightly it was a gift to Dave from his mates, a retirement gift maybe ? ... which makes it even cooler

Right you are, Ben.  A gift from a couple of hunting buddies.

David,
I have seen your bow at the Mid State shoot. I do plan on going to Elk River this weekend. I have an old Shakespear with a darker shade of green than what Great Northern and Northern Mist offer. It is a fantastic color and would look great with a white belly glass combo.

Shinken

WOW!  That's a great-lookin' bow right there David!

How about a pass-around?

Shoot straight, Shinken

I think a bow with green back glass, old white belly, wedge grip, low shelf.maybe a coin or medalion of Howard's old patch.  It should be a straight limb bow, possible slight string follow.  A minimum of 16 strand string, orange and green strands, Dacron.

Ben Maher

Mmmm ...

What about , to make things easier any bow of Craigs but we organise a medallion or similiar to be imbedded in the riser , much akin to what Craig offers now but we just get somnething for ourselves made up/ordered ?

Here's a couple of my thoughts on the bows. They should be 68" to accommodate the most bowhunters.

53-55#, opaque glass (brown and black for hunting colors). A highly figured piece of Coco Bolo or other "warm" wood color. Checkering above and below the leather grip. Straight grip, straight limbs.
D97 string (not skinny). No tip overlays, but a wedge would be nice.
Of course it should be 100% bamboo limbs.
