Nate Steen .

Toddster..i know of the main things that schulz said hill always carried....knife, pliars, talcum powder, file, spare string....

In answer to the broadhead sharp question....schulz said he was asked often how he kept his broadheads sharp in a backquiver and he always answered the same way he heard hill answer..."with a file...how do you keep yours sharp?"

Even in a bowquiver heads will get dull...you have to check them everyday.  I use shag carpet in the bottom of my quivers to grab the broadhead tips.  After i felt one of your broadheads rik i wish i'd of let you feel mine straight out of my backquiver...you would have been shocked.  Mine will shave hair with a file edge which holds up well in my backquiver

Mudd

I know that I need a bigger quiver!

I can hardly reach my hand to the bottom of mine, in fact the only way I can is to remove all of the arrows.

Mudd...big jim also loves the crossover glove...fyi

My back quiver is also small, I've been thinking about getting a bigger one.  I've been looking at the HH quivers on their site.  Does anybody  use those or do you use someone else's?

Mudd

I am 100% positively sure now, as funds become available I will ask Nate if he will build me one of His quivers.

I definitely need room to carry food so as not to lose my shape...lol

Plus, could I get more "Sherwood" that hitting the woods with my new Sunset Hill and a great piece of "over the shoulder"... "carry on".. luggage?...lol

I like the shag carpet idea. Nothing to abrade the heads, but enough texture to keep them from moving around against each other.

Has anyone ordered a bow blank from Craig at Howard Hill archery? If so, how hard was it to finish it out?
I was going to do one last year, but after I figured the cost for supplie and the time invovled I decided to have Craig build it.

Nate and Lambow is correct.  I guess I messed up the question, should of been six things, lol.  A folding sharp knife, Pliars (after a pass thru obviously), Talcum for glove, File, spare string, and cigarettes

Yah Jeff works good for me on any of the nylon overlays reducing the impact of fraying. Used it on the Bigshot and a Brotzman glove that I'm currently using.

Just incase anyone was wondering, the photo was taken by my wife after returning home from hunting, which is why there is no 'hunter orange'.

I have put a thin (1") pad of closed cell foam in the bottom of my backquiver.  Keeps the heads from dulling and also lessens arrow rattle. I use a "Scott Toll" styled quiver but would like to make a Hill style.

Would anyone mind posting the dimensions of their Hill style backquivers?

I have been using Hillstyle back quivers for many many years and as of the last year using one of Nate's Sunset Hill back quivers .....
The piece if shag carpet works an absolute treat ... hands down great idea and all my back quivers now have similiar .
Nate's quivers are sweet !

Here`s a quote by Gary Sentman from another forum:
"John Schulz, bowyer for Howard Hill Archery Company on the left and Gary Sentman on the right with the Guiness World Record bow. A 176# pull at 28 1/4 inches witnessed and recorded by Guiness World Book of Records. Gary drew this bow on stage in front of hundreds of other archers at the Forksville, PN shoot."

Gary claims that he is 6`1" and the bow (the one he holds) is 70" nock-to-nock.
