I have found the 3RA "Super Glove" to work well for my 70# bows.  I have had tender pinched fingers while using other gloves - Super Glove solved it fast.

Ari

Mike, great video with a lot of great tips, think it got me shooting better already.   :archer:

30coupe & Ari.  Glad you tuned into the video. I'm sure anyone who watches it will benefit.  It find it much easier to learn this style by viewing it, rather than reading about it.  It's really a great tool to use as it will force you to want to shoot like John.  Hopefully many, if not all of us, will become successful Hill-style shooters.  I try to work on it everyday.

Thanks to John Schulz for taking the time to film that video.  It's an invaluable resource.

I use a HH glove and really like it.  It took me awhile to get it broke in, infact I almost gave up on it, but I have kept shooting with it and it has become my favorite glove.

Overspined

I would like to try a Hill glove, I am using the Big Shot now and have for about 4 or 5 years. It's a good glove but I would never order one. I found that buying them in person is important. 5 large gloves will all fit completely different.  They are hand sewn, and it takes only a small change in material edge to totally change the fit. I have learned to buy them tight but with the right length finger stalls, then smear a liberal amount of Montana pitch blend on your hand and glove, inside and out, and then shoot with it. It will absorb the pitch and conform to your hand.  Sometimes the corners of the cordura finger overlay may be sharp where they are folded over, it creates corners that can bite into the fat of your finger when you make a hook.  I just take a razor blade and nick the sharp corner off.  It doesn't hurt the glove or cause any unravelling unless you take it to far and get the stitching.

ChrisM

I trimmed the end of my HH glove where my finger tips are exposed and glued the stitch so it won't unravel.  I am likeing it now i just want a longer finger stall.

Perhaps we should design a bow for "Hillaholics", a rare and small following.  Maybe can be Craig's next limited edition.

If we could all come together on such a bow, it would be the ultimate perfect bow.

For starters, it should have full-length natural bamboo, darkly carmelized, with big bold nodes showing through clear glass.

Ahhh, I can almost picture it now. . .

Maybe a tghillthread spec'd bow...same general specs as far as materials but any semi longbow maker can build it...depending on who you want.

Those stories and videos just put a HUGE smile on my face even though i haven't ordered a Hill bow yet.

I like that suggestion, Rik.

I have a very important question, at least to me it's important. I shoot 3-under with the bow straight up and down and when i shoot a lot i'm very accurate out to 30 yards.

When i do get a 66in Hill bow (i have a 30in draw) can i still be accurate holding my bow this way.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but i'm fairly new to trad archery, about 3 years and i went through a divorce and some very difficult times and didn't pick a bow up for a year or even look at this website.

I'M BACK and better than ever and i am more excited today than i was when i first shot a stickbow.

Any info would be greatly appreciated and Merry Christmas to all you fine people and especially the ones who have helped me over the last 15 months, you know who you are.

You can shoot it straight up and down. G. Fred mentions it in his Vol.II on instinctive shooting. He does not do it but mentions other that do. I try it every once in a while and sometimes shoot better.

Joe: My mate Tony Jensen shoots Hills 3-under and with no cant - straight up and down. I have never seen a better long range shooter on game than him.

Now, is the deal on a 66" Hill locked-in? It's just that you do have a long draw, and may benefit from a 70" Hill.
