Sounds like a great reason to see some new country and meet new folks.  Got a phone call today....Craig said my new Crocodile is on the way!! Anticipation!!!!!

Nate Steen .

maybe some kind of TGHILLSHOTS RENDEZVOUS, somewhere in the middle of the country, sometime between hunting seasons when the countryside is in bloom....yeah, I'm all for that for sure.

you know,  it's good to see how many guys are affected by this bug and are buying all sorts of Hill style longbows from all sorts of bowmakers and are having fun with them.   That's the infectious nature of this bug

I'm going to tease you guys now.....I've got some heavy thinking/writing to do about a couple of the finer points of Hillstyle longbows and shooting/aiming technique.  It's the stuff of much debate and is best to be served when we are all done with hunting for the year and need something to chat about.  I'm thinking after New Years's.....

I would go for a Rendezvous in the middle of the country, Nate, I really need to learn the finer points of shooting and aiming technique, can't wait

Nate Steen .

Rod,  I need lessons from you my friend....

Rod Cam

I don't think so i seen you shoot these eyes are to old

Nate-

I took the wife out for dinner tonight, and than I took her out to buy a new pair of shoes. After we bought the shoes, I told her that I was planning to go to Idaho to meet you guys and hunt, she was all for it!!! I just need to get the time off of work.

I was talking with Jason Ekin a couple of weeks ago about bear hunting. I told him that I preferred to stay in the U.S. and he suggested Idaho. Do you know the months or dates best to go bear hunting in Idaho?
Maybe a "Tradgang Hill shoot Rendezvous Bear hunt"

I'm with Rob on this,If I want to hunt I'd just stay in Canada.Would really like to go stump shooting ,meet the fellas and just plain rendezvous, see equipment and have one heck of a good time.

I would rather hunt   :campfire:   , and skin a couple animals   :deadhorse:

I hope that I can get the time off.

Wow. Went to the range today and shot my own personal best (242/300) with my Wesley today. Not too shabby for a bow that I've had for a little less than a month.

Spoke to Craig this afternoon and my order for a snakewood riser Half Breed with elk inlay should be done by the end of the month.

Life is good!

I'm really looking forward to it Ben. Snakewood (visible fadeout) riser with yew limbs and laced elk hide wrap and silver inlay. 66 inches pulling 52@28. I can't decide weather I want the black or the natural colored wrap so Craig's gonna email me pics of both up against the bow so I can make my mind up.

I'm hoping it'll be my 'go to' bow for anything you can hunt here in Canada (with the right arrow setup of course).

I'm loving the accuracy I'm getting from the Wesley and wouldn't hesitate to take it out of whitetails despite the lower draw weight (42lbs).

Rossco, what is your arrow set-up for that 42# bow?

Rossco7002

I'm still tinkering right now (and waiting on some 1916's to arrive from HHA) but I've got some beeman mfx 600's shooting good at 28.5 inches + 75gr insert + 200gr head. That gives me just shy of 12gpp. I'm also working on a set up using ST Epic Jnr's cut to about 27.75 with a 200gr head. Not completely tuned yet but I'm hoping I'll come in at around 10gpp with those.

Eventually I'm switching to wood but with all the $$$ I'm sinking into bows that project will have to wait.....

Rossco, Thanks 4 the info! What's your approximate draw length?

Rossco7002

Will my Wesley I'm coming in a hair under 26 at full alignment. With my R/D longbow or a recurve add 3/4ers of an inch.

Aw Heck, Hawken1911,

We haven't even really included any hunting stories so far. You don't even want to know what will happen to your Vortex when we start sharing serious hunting stories!

P.S. I may have identified the remote area where a famous Hill-Type bowyer just might be hunting mule deer this weekend. With luck (unless I find a mule deer to chase instead) I might be able to snap a quick photo of said bowyer. Although. . . he is about as elusive this time of year as a Snow Yetti.  Just about the same size too.
