Those are some fine looking bows. Love the profile on the Wapiti Ben. It just looks ready to hunt!

Craig sent me an email that he'd received my payment and would be finishing my bow as soon as he could. He must really be putting in the hours to get the orders out the door!!

I'm a little nervous about how the osage riser will contrast against the dark carmelized bamboo.  I'm counting on that osage to age, darken up, and put a bit of mojo into it. I usually get Shedua for riser wood so we'll see how it goes.

Ben,

Looking forward to the adventures that you may have with the Wapiti.

Jim,

Keep the string and your fingers warm - there is a deer there somewhere that will need a stickin'!

Hey Molson.  I wouldn't worry too much about the contrast.  I was talking about Osage with Raging Water the other night.  He bought a pretty bright Crocodile recently.  I was telling him that I have a turkey box call made from Osage.  It was very bright yellow when I purchased it about 15 years ago.  Now it's a beautiful honey-amber tone.  Give it time and it will develop a nice patina.  Good luck with it.  Pics when you get it.  Love Osage.     :campfire:

I was just on the HHA site and noticed that Craig is using Birch for risers now.  Lots of them in the stock bow area.  Anyone ever see a Birch-handled Hill from Craig.  I'm curious.

I owe thanks to a couple of special people.

I want to thank Spanky Neal and Nate steen.

These two guys surprised me earlier this year with a phone call letting me know that I was getting a spot in Nate's build list.

But it's even more special than that.

Because of this Hill thread I became good friends with Tony Van Dort who at that time was still living in China.

Tony and I talked via the computer every day for literally months on end.

Spanky and Nate were aware of the special friendship that had developed so not only did they open up a spot for me but one for Tony as well.

I got word today that the build had begun on both bows and I was free to speak of them now.

How do I say how much this has meant to me.

I am still humbled by what these two men are doing for me.

Thank you Spanky and Nate!!!

Now for the specs: 66" 54@28 Brwon glass on the back with old ivory colored glass for the belly.

Hand tempered bamboo core and a combination of bamboo and Myrtle for the riser.

I can feel my heart race a little faster just writing about it.

How cool is this?... Way!!!...I'm saying....

Okie man

Great news Roy. I should have my Sunset Hill by the end of next week. I will post some pics when I get it to keep your heart rate up until yours arrives.

Roy, congrats!!            this couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

Mudd

Thank you folks for the kind words!

If you get a chance to speak with Spanky or Nate you'll know you're dealing with some real class people.

BTW I forgot to mention the grip will be slightly dished. (if I remember correctly what I said to Nate...lol)

Ken, those are great pictures of "Yellow Dog" Has it been blooded yet?

Molson

Quick question....   On the HH bows, is the riser radiused  at the side plate on all of them?  It is on my Yellowstone but I dont know if that is standard on all of Craig's bows.  I like my arrow to make contact at the center of the side plate and shelf.  I've only seen the one I own and it is exactly like I want it.  Just wondering if they are all like that or if I will have to request it on my new one.

Ron,
Thanks, Yellow Dog is a beauty. I blooded this bow the first time I went roving  :)

Thanks again Ron.

San Paolo

Nomad Archer your bow is a beauty and it's string follow even if I thought the Shrew Hill were only reflex.
Congratulations.
Marco.

NomadArcher

Marco, Thank you  :)
It has about a half inch of string follow after being braced for some time. If I leave it unstrung overnight it's straight again.
