Jeff-

Great Pics, you have really good form in that picture. Is that the Hill bow your going to use on the Hill Hog Hunt?

Okiciyapi (Sunset Hill) will be coming on the hunt.  She looks very much like a Schulz American Longbow.  Myrtlewwod handle, bamboo core, brown glass.  Smooth on the draw, I mean smooth.

That picture was taken post-op with a diagnosis and prescription for the missed bow grip.  Dr. Nate Steen, PHD in "Hill-ology".  His prescription got me back on track.

I think that Killdeer owes us a picture....  She has to have hunted down her mailperson by now.

Just now downloaded them into the desktop.

I was at the Post Office first thing yesterday morning. The bow arrived unscathed, and as a new mother, I think it is way more beautiful than anybody else's bow anywhere!

Its golden limbs gleam from deep within their Osage veneers, like they are keeping a merry secret, the two inner lams of bamboo bound between them, a powerful surprise. The Chechen riser is a warm brown, swirled with a mild grain and wrapped with dark chocolate split cowhide. I strung it in the parking garage so that I could feel the limbs work and get a glimpse of its tiller.

Then, it was off to the park, after a couple of errands, and there we played for four hours. Unfortunately for you fair readers, I am antsy to get back there while the weather is so cool, so any computer-squatting will have to wait until it is hot and muggy again. This morning is golden, with a blue sky and a refreshing, playful little breeze that reminds me of the mountains.

Danged if I am staying inside!

That's the nicest I've ever been rejected in my life!!! I wouldn't have minded being turned down so much in high school if they were all like that

I think I am starting to get the hang of this grip, though there is a big loss of accuracy after 15-17 yards. I am shooting 3555GTs, with a lot of weight up front. I also tried some arrows that are supposedly too light (1535 GTs) and they flew very well. I dunno if it is my release or grip or what. But hey... whatever works!   :D

I put some belly button lint on the string. It was going "boing", and I remembered something about low-freq noise traveling over long distances, like elephants in must or something. Now that string keeps mum! I have enough to think about without some string making suggestions or comments on every shot.

I ordered the bow on the fifth, (actually started on the fourth, but finalized details on the fifth) and it was attempted delivery on the twenty-third. I think that was the longest eighteen days ever! How do those guys do that?   :bigsmyl:

Osage is a wonderful thing.......That's a nice one, one of the best I've seen. I like my Half Breed, But that Osage

As mentioned earlier, I've been making a new quiver. Got it finished today and I'm very happy with it. Softer and much lighter than either of it's older siblings.

It's much more oval than round as it appears.

Gorgeous!

You got a hum dinger - now hum-less with the belly lint and all.

Give her a lot of time and she'll (he'll) grow on ya.

The bow is 64", and 47@26".
I haven't scaled it yet.    ;)

This is my very first shoulder quiver. I purchased it from Sunland Sports in California around 1962.
THIS is the quiver that Howard Hill carried in his later years.

The quiver on the left was made from tooling leather and is much too stiff, but served well for around 25 years.

Nice looking quiver, Charlie! Isn't it cool when what works best is something you made?   :bigsmyl:

Here are a few bows to look at... sure don't mean to be stealing any of Killy's thunder. These are old bows after all.
