My family surprised me with a first edition copy of "Hunting the Hard Way". I haven't been able to put it down since, what a great read it is.

Does anyone know if Craig is still willing to make the "Longbowman's Special"?  I didn't jump at it a few years ago, and now have enough available play money that I can afford one the way I want it...

Darren I hear ya! Mine does love wild game so I am encouraged to bring some home. She wanted to go with me to a 3d shoot so I encouraged her telling her what great exercise it would be with all the the hours of walking, the trees and big hills to climb etc,etc and for some reason she backed out last minute. hehehehehe!

Hmmmmm.... I bought a Howard Hill glove and a Howard Hill Deluxe glove to try a stiffer glove than the Damascus gloves I have been using since dinosaurs ruled the earth. I was getting a big, old callus on my ring finger and it was starting to make my release even worse than it usually is.

Ironically, the glove fit two out of three of my fingers pretty well, but my ringfinger, not at all.

Question: Should I start at 60 grit or 100 grit as I work my way towards finishing that finger off with 220? (talk about Hunting The Hard Way....)

Owlmagnet

Not to worry: I did real well with the 100 grit until my wife noticed what I was up to. She said I really needed a pumice stone, so she went and found me one. THEN she told me that I had to soak my fingers, first--and that the best way to do that was to wash the dishes....

Well, the glove fits now and my ring finget may be tender, but it isn't sore--and my wife is walking around, grinning....

Owlmagnet

Oooops, I meant "finger", not "finget". (Anybody ever notice how close that little R is to the little T? I hope I can shoot with this Hill glove--I'll tell ya right now I can't type for spit, with it!
