i use a strap on bowquiver on my bows, for the convienance of transport, take it off once where i want to hunt, (Nate dont get upset, lol).  I jus got the kanati slimjim this year and love it, wel worth money.

i never liked bow quivers - really did NOT like 'em.  then i tried an efa 4 arrow model and got just about instantly hooked.  the key for me with bow quivers is ultra light weight, and that's one reason i prefer eagle's flight quivers.  i was glad when don finally put out a 5 arrow model, but i used the 4 arrow for at least 3 years with great results.

imo, there IS a difference to how a stick bow reacts on release with any bow quiver.  the added weight is like sticking on a stabilizer and probably one big reason why rik likes 'em so much (whether he knows about the stabilizer thing or not!  :)  ).

bow quivers are flat out convenient for walk-in hunts.  if it was a hike-in hunt i'd definitely add a stalker side quiver with at least 8 more bullets in the magazine.  no matter how many broadhead arrows a quiver holds i always add one more arrow tipped with a judo.  if the arrows are carbons, i pack at least 2 more sharpened heads nestled in leather bonnets.

my soon-to-arrive miller 'old tom' will sport an efa snakeskin 4 arrow, loaded with snuffer and tusker tipped woodies.

Thanks guys, guess the best thing to do is put it on the bow and see how it works. Appreciate the opinions.

Looking foward to pics of that one mate ... and your opinion of the Miller .
For your hunt down at Solana 2012 will you use a t/d given that you'll fly to get there etc ?

Far Rider ... I don't like bow quivers generally , particularly on my Hills style bows ... but boy are they convinient and a great stabiliser to boot !

EastTexasRedneck: Congratulations! That sounds inspiring! Please post pictures. There are hardly any photos available of the Crocodile in detail, so I am keen to see them. One will probably be my next Hill.

I just love Selway slide-on bow quivers.

Don-

The Osage is purty on that Croc, the wood has really darken as well.

I've only been using back quivers, someday I might try an EFA bow quiver.

Speaking of bow quivers......

I too never liked something strapped, tied or screwed into my bow. They just didn't feel right. Then I tried an EFA. Sold me right away. 4 arrow model, carry one blunt and three broadheads. For an extended stay, I also have one of G. Fred's 7 arrow quiver that I throw over my shoulder. Fits well even with a pack. That gives me 11 arrows to do something with. Any more than that....well, I figure that I need to learn to shoot better.    :saywhat:

Hate to ask, but where do I find this mythical wonder quiver.....the "EFA"!   :biglaugh:

Thanks Bud B.
I found it on 3 Rivers site, I actually have the same thing, only I bought mine years ago off of #€¥y. Can't remember who I bought it from. Mine is a 3 arrow version, upper made of buff hide. Does anybody know if he has been making these all along? I have been using mine strapped to the bow until I reach my blind, then removing it while I sit. Does anybody get vibration or excess noise from theirs?

Like others have said, it's a stabilizer and a silencer.

I have had arrows rattle out of mine before if I shoot other arrows while leaving the ones on the quiver. Seat the arrows firmly in the foam and they're good to go.

Don is good people. If you can find him in all the stuff in his shop. Heh Heh...just pokin' Don

And far rider, I have one if you want to try it if we have an opportunity to meet up next week. I'm still trying. I called a quail farm today.
