Can you mix store-bought and Wild Turkey fletches?

EASTERNARCHER

I just bought my first Tru-Flight feathers full length in solid white with the intention on using them as my cock feather, with natural turkey fletch dyed red.
I was quite surprised to find that these Tru-flights are very thin and flexible...like secondaries, and very transluscent.

It's too late to send back, so I went ahead and chopped them out(5in. shields).
My question is can these work with the naturals, or should I grind some natural barred and use those???These are for a Christmas gift so time is running short! SHeesh! Any ideas?
Thanks.

I have used a mix of the two and never noticed any problems.

I have done it a lot and still do with no issues.

I have though noticed that if I use goose and something else I well get those flight issues.

If they're chopped or burned to the same size, there shouldn't be a problem.  The white will probably begin to show wear a little quicker because it isn't as sturdy a feather.

Ya, I can see that happening.
These are definately softer than the primaries I have from wild birds.

It takes a little more time to match them but I splice the two on some arrows.

No problems, I do it all the time. Never noticed any additional noise.
