Toelke Lynx HS arrived!

I bought this beautiful Toelke Lynx HS from a fellow Tradganger. Here are the details:
Riser: cocobolo w/ black phenolic and cocobolo accents.

Limbs: highly figured juniper on back & belly w/ebony overlays under limb bolts. The limb wedges are Pau Ferro. The limb cores are bamboo with a thin strip of cherry.

Not yet, Tim. I received it today when I got home from work and I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you! I requested tomorrow off and if I'm fortunate enough to get off, I plan to spend a lot of time shooting this beauty! BTW: Any tips on tightening the limb bolts? Is it 1/4 turn past snug? Also, what brace height does this bow like?

The nock point should be just fine as is.  Brace height should be at 7 1/8 from the deepest part of the grip to the string.  That string is a 12 strand dyna 97 with a few loops of Dacron in the tips.  The serving is halo .24.  If you need another string, let me know and I'll pass on more info on how to get another.  

That lynx, as well as the one I'm shooting tune so easy, let me know if you run into any problems.   Just call me on my cell.  

I just lightly snug the limb bolts,  please don't over tighten them.

Yes, don't over tighten the limb bolts !!

I'm convinced it can ultimately cause the glass to crack around the bolt holes.. With the bolts you can put a tremendous amount of compression on that relatively thin limb stack..  Something's gonna give !  And it's just wood ..

I shot it today,Tim. It shoots great. I've had a 60" bow before that I couldn't shoot  very well, a little too short for my draw. I was a little uncertain about this 60 incher, but knew I could order longer limbs. After shooting it today, I was pleasantly surprised. Great bow for sure.

What is your draw length? I am @ 30 and was wondering if there would be any stacking issues. Thanks, Scott.

My draw is 29" This is subjective, but I haven't noticed any stacking issues.

I asked Dan about the specified torque on the limb bolts when I bought my lynx. I want to say he told me about 5 in./lbs, but check with him to be sure. I didn't have an allen head adapter for my click type torque driver so I used the calibrated arm method by sticking an allen wrench into a hex head socket on my torque driver, set at 5 in./lbs., and turning it til I reached the click repeatedly (in order to get a feel for 5 in./lbs). Then try to apply the same amount of force on the limb bolts. I tell you what. It felt like much more than I expected the fasteners to require. I'm no physicist but i figure that the force on the bearing surfaces of the limb at full draw is much more than 5 in./lbs. delivers. Anyhow, I would suggest talking to Dan and trying to tighten the bolts as close to his specs as possible. He knows his bows better than anybody and I'm sure he has put alot of thought into every aspect of their design. Also, don't be surprised if you see some slight movement in the brass washer as the bow is drawn (seen by standing on the string and pulling the riser upwards. The bolt head appears to be rocking within the brass washer). I've already discussed that with Dan and he has assured me that it is designed to do that. The entire limb and its joint to the riser are all working parts.

Beautiful bow. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I wished I had learned on a junk bow cause every time I shoot mine I don't do it justice. Still got a long way to go.
