Who is using the Big Game Head by Jim Neaves of Centaur Archery?

Can you comment on the overall quality of these heads?

Are they easy to spin true on steel BH adaptors?

Are any of you shooting single bevel heads?

Any on-game performance stories/pics?

I've shot deer with Zwickey, Magnus, STOS, Snuffer, Grizzly, Abowyer, Eclipse & Bear broadheads and probably a few others.

I'm shooting 250 grain VPA's right now.  I enjoy the experience of variety and have fun with different setups.  Am considering giving these big 1 ¾"concave heads a try.

Thanks for your comments –

I don't have any of Centaur's heads, but I do shoot the Simmons screw in. I have had good luck with them as far as flight goes. If you go to Jim's sight he does a destruction test, they seem to hold up very well.

I have been shooting the m the last two years. I shot a black tail doe last year at 50 yds and complete pass through and she only made it 15 yds before piling up.  Last year I shot a nice whitetail buck double lung from 11 yds and didn't get a complete pass through but penetrated to fletch. Cut two ribs going in and two going out. He made it about 175 yds before going down. The weird part was very little blood on the ground until the end. Broadhead went in horizontal and came out half way up the body on exit. I am shooting the double bevel model on alum adapter for a 200 gr head. I will probably use these heads for deer size game for a long time as they are great heads and fly true.

Alexander -

Saw the destruction test on Centuar web site, impressive!  Lots of good broadheads to choose from.  These are so different, except for the Simmons, which are very similar.

Thanks cch.

Yeah...no matter what BH we might use, they don't always cause "blood to gush and flow".

I have been using them almost exclusively the last 2 yrs, and I have been lucky enough with them to have harvested 2 bucks and 3 does during that time. Most of those 5 died within 50 yds of my stand--huge holes. They fly great, but I'm still not happy with their sharpness. I even got the wheel from Jim, but... Also, I wish Jim would make a screw in head. I hate playing with the adapters. Because of the this, I might try a couple of broadheads from Jim's buddy at Simmons. One more thing, Jim's bows scream death and are fun and "simple" to shoot!
Peace!
