I surely do not wish to be viewed as a liberal weenie of some kind, but.....here goes

The books on meditation starting with "Zen...Archery" and some of those on "mindfulness" might keep you centered.  It is about breathing and keeping yourself grounded.  I first had it sprung on me while shooting rifles intercollegiately.  It does work ifyou practice it.  I just read one for a dozen bucks by a monk named nacht, i think.  No I know the lotus, but with my knees that is as far away as Nam as I can get.  (I saw monks over there, but none spoke to us)

Yeah, I know I will take $hit from a few of my friends, but that is another way to stay grounded, have off centered friends
