HI all - haven't posted in a bit, got a nice Super Kodiak (#45 @ 28) from deerdog, great bow thx!  I used an XX75 test kit (300, 340, 400, 500) with points from 100 to 250 grain.  I was expecting to see a good fit with a 400 or 340 XX75 and maybe 150 grain.  To my surprise the best groupings were with a 500 (2016) shaft and 125 grain point, same set up as my Mississippi Lake Long bow (#45 @ 28).  I was wondering what others are using....thx

All of my 45# bows seem to like 1916s and 125 gr points.

2016 @ 29.75 with 190 total point weight (30 gr insert + 160 point).......works for me.....YMMV
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

My bows in that drawweight seem to like 2014's, 2114's, 1916's in that order.

Draw length is 28 inches and point weight is 125 grain with all the above shafts.

That's inline with my results:

45@28 Kodiak hunter. Drawn 29.5. It likes 2016's with 125, or 2018's with 145-160 up front. It will also shoot 2117's with 200 up front. All arrow cut between 30.25, and 30.5"

Great thx guys, I assumed a heavier spine and point but seems like I am inline with everyone else.  Makes arrow selection between the recurve and longbow easier ;-)
