I thought i knew what the AMO bow lenght was, but after having read a few articles, including the original AMO PDF document, I am confused....

Could someone explain to me, in plain SIMPLE language, how to measure the AMO length of a Bow?????

Thanks!
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

SBD strings on all, what else?

AMO length is three inches longer then the string length a bow needs to bring it to proper brace.

SO if a bow needs a 59" string to bring it to brace, it is a 62" AMO bow. Doesn't matter if it is a recurve or longbow. A lot of bowyers don't follow AMO.

Thanks!

So you could say the lenght measured from groove to groove when strung, plus 3 inches?

How do most bowyers specify theur bowlenght then?
