Friends call me Pac

Got to hunt back home in NC after 20 years or so.  This was taken the last evening of the last day of the hunt.

View from my stand

Heard quite a racket and then this rascal stepped out.  My first bear that I have ever seen while hunting.  A huge grin popped out and never left for a long time.

Watched him for about 5 minutes.  He ended up about 15 yards behind the stand but by then the wind was blowing my scent towards him.  Bear season wasn't open but I thought it was still dang cool to have been priviledged to see this bear.

Shortly after the bear left I was relaxing in the stand.  I caught a quick glimps of movement from the corner of my eye and saw/felt something jump from a limb onto my arm.  I had just watched this bear without any fear but a small lizard that thought I was part of the tree just about scared me to death!  I think i heard him chuckleing as I had to put another arrow on the string.  My previous arrow was now lying on the ground below the stand.

Be wary of lizards my friends.  They are nothing but pranksters.

Great pics..!  Bears are just "wild". I will never get tired of seeing black bears.

It's neat when you see bears while hunting! I remember seeing my first one while bow hunting back in the early 70s. It was in an area of Pa where bears weren't supposed to be. Everybody thought I was nuts.

Last night, I seen my 27th Tioga County bear since I demolished our Cavalier on one this past May. I've seen enough for a while.   :)

I have never seen a Bear in the wild so that would be way cool to see one.

Bears are very cool. We have increasing numbers  in Texas again finally.
