I have heard that there are trail cams that send photos to a satelitte - that then sends the photo taken to your email.
Anyone ever use one; or know the name of one?
thanks

There's one I see called CELLULAREYE. Prolly others I'm sure but thats the one I found from a google search. Pretty neat if you need to set a camera in a remote area.

They can be costly. I believe that you have to sign up for service to have it activated. Kinda like a cell phone.

Cabelas has one called the Smart Scouter. They also have listed the price list for service.

thanks guys. I have a lady friend with a log home on a remote lake in Montana. There are elk and deer etc in the area; but last week it was visited by vandals that shot out windows and other intellectual stuff inside the home. As she does not live there full time; and one of the 3 kids involved bragged about it- they are all caught and charged with a felony. I told her the cost of buying one of these cameras to overlook the log home- should be incorporated into the penalties given to the guys that are now charged with felonies.
The fact that she could tell what elk and deer are there ( when and which) is entirely a co-incidence........

yes - her husband spent his last days there; and it made her feel really bad. Certainly not a victimless crime...

Smart scouter or cellular scout may work but they require a beam activation and only cover a small area. A better solution may be a home surveillance system with 4 infrared dome cameras mounted to the corners of the house. They film continuously and record to a hard drive in the house or other location by internet connection. Probably looking at about $1,200 to $2,000 for a system like this.
