Just wondering who uses them and is there a brand that you use or do you make your own?

This is for people who leave the quiver on the bow when they hunt.

I'm thinking about using them this fall for deer since I like a bright arrow (a lot of white) and they stick out.  I have several old camo shirts or I few uniforms left over from the military that I could use.

Do they add a bunch of fletch noise and does that affect anything?  I'm not going to be shooting long distances so noise hopefully won't hurt me.

Thanks...

Josh

Think Terry was working with someone to get a really good one back in production.  Hope he sees this, and maybe has an update.....

3-rivers carries them, I like them and think they help to hide your fletching from 'flagging' game animals or hunters.

I use the leg of an old pair of camo pants with the string built in the cuff.  Works fine

This is what I was thinking...I have both desert and woodland military camo left over.  I'm going to ask my wife to sew a bow sock out of a desert and woodland camo for my recurve and longbow.  I think it would be neat to use my old camo for this type of things.

bought mine from Kustom King, for like 7 bucks.   Has an elastic strap to hold it in place.  I haven't used it yet for hunting, bought it for 3D in the spring time during rain storms.  Seems to work alright, it's fleece, doesn't make alot of noise pulling arrows out.
It is a world with dew still on it, more touched by wonder and possiblitly than any I have since known.

I was thinking of using an old turkey hunting mask/hood. If that doesn't work I'll buy one.

KK, 3rivers, The Nocking Point all have them. I think GFA sells one.

I think they add some noise when getting an arrow from the quiver and was working on a type that would cover the individual fletching but the first time I walked near some briars it whipped it right off my arrow and I didn't even know it. Just happened to look down and it was gone. I thought I was on to something until then.

I bought a roll end of woodland camo fleece at a fabric store for a couple of dollars, and make my own.  I do attach them to the quiver with some black elastic cord now, as my first experience was the same as b.glass-it came off and I never even new it.  Quiet, covers the "flag" of moving fletching, and I've got enough left for the garage sale after I'm dead:-)!

I guess I'm more worried about the sound of the fletch moving on the shot as I am with the sound of an arrow coming out of the cover.

I guess I'm just going to have to experiment some and see what I get for sound.  All good ideas...fleece might be better material for sound dampening.

SHOOTO8S

With Terry Green's help...I'm working on a new fletching cover, but with a weeklong trip starting tomorrow and shoulder surgery next week, I'm behind on working out the final details on getting them into production.   :(

Can not wait to get my hands on one of these!

Thanks for the update Rod!  Couldn't remember who Terry had said he was working with.  Hope it comes to reality - and speedy recovery to ya.

Blackhawk

I made a green fleece one to cover the bright yellow fletch and attached it to my Great Northern 5-arrow quiver with an elastic cord.  I keep one arrow outside the cover to reduce noise when withdrawing an arrow.

Just get the Arrowmaster quiver by Safari-Tuff (Rod)--problem solved.  It (the fletch cover) won't come off accidently, it's super quiet, holds a bunch of arrows, rides like nothing is there, very versitile and adjustable....best quiver I've seen.

Above sounds good but...I like having the quiver on the bow, I seem to shoot better with it on.  I guess I like the extra weight the quiver adds to the bow.

I'll come up with something...it's weird since the first thing I did when shooting a compound was take the quiver off.  Now I like the extra weight.

Go figure.
