BobW...I heard it directy from 3 Rivers.  I was contacted by them regarding that thread.  They just might not be in all the pipe lines yet.

BTW...even thought the bevels were waivy, they were easily evened out with a belt sander....but they really should come straighter from the manufacturer.  Hopefully that is the case.

Matter of fact, I'll order some today and see for myself.

Please don't take this a picking a fight.  I need to say first of all, I am a fan of the shape of that head.  But, I can post pics of how little of the rear section of the blade is left from "evening up" that wavy blade.  Re-grinding a blade shouldn't be necessary, and especially when it comprimises structural integrity.  The removal of that much material on a single side also likely has an impact on flight characteristics (but then again, almost everything in my form does too - lol).

I have two cards of "the originals" that are like gold to me.  Last years ones don't cut it.  I'd really like to see them made decently again, and I'm hoping that you are right.

I don't really believe that a single package is difinitive proof either.  Going to take some time to win back my trust.......

Bob....I've probably done over 4 dozen, and never had to cut any as low as you described....maybe you got some really bad ones.

Believe me, I'm with ya on the 'shoulda come straight to begin with'.

I have killed my last 4 deer and now 1 bear as of this week with the ww broad heads.All but one deer was a comlete pass thru and after traveling the full length of the deer it stoped at the far shoulder blade.I'm a believer.The deer was killed with 49lb bow the bear about 53lb and it even went thru the far leg after exiting the chest cavity.Great broadhead and Terrys method of using a sander to get them ready to sharpen is the only way to fly.

If sharp, you will shoot through deer and hogs like a knife through butter. Sharp ww's and 9-10 grains /lb of draw weight and they go through them like wet newspaper.

Here is what I got when following the "conventional file and sharpie" method, not to mention sore hands from over 45 minutes of work on one head.  In order to get a uniform removal of marker, this was all the blade I have left - this is only on one side, the othere remained consistent.

Way back when I started using WW's I followed Terry's advice - begin the WW sharpening process by laying each double edge down on a stationary or belt sander and slightly lift up the head's rear end, to "fatten up" that needle point.  Then I run the edges over a mill bastard file for a few strokes, then strop out with a DMT dual grit diamond file.  Truly razor sharp.  Never had a problem with WW heads - yet!

I sharpen each blade seperate as I would a knife blade after cleaning the grind up some with a file.Never had any trouble even with a wave or two in the blade.

Steve, I shoot vaporwoods 2000 and 125..with 50 or 100 grain insert out 50#, a 53# longbows...today is going to be good day!!!!!Marco

I`ve killed 40-50 critters with woodsmans when they first come out with bows between 50-55 lbs.Havn`t tried the "new" ones.RC
