I'm looking for an alternative to Barge Cement - something that is available at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, etc.  I've looked high and low and no Barge.  I need it for gluing on arrow rest and leather handle cover.  What do you recommend?  Thank you.

I use Loctite "stik n seal" outdoor adhesive.  Seems to be similar to barge.  I am like you, could not find barge locally.  Got mine at menards.

I use "Amazing E-6000".  I got it at Wal-Mart in the craft department.  Its a silver tube.  It dries clear and glues leather great.  I've only used it on one handle wrap so far and it has helf for about three years now.  I just used it lastnight on an axe sheath.  I tried to pull it apart and it was tearing the fibers on the leather instead of pulling the glue apart.

Plain old contact cement works for me. Don't make the mistake that rubber cement is the same as contact cement - I won't do that again.

Barge is a brand name for contact cement. There are lots of substitutes. Weldwood contact cement is one. It is used for laminated counter tops.

Try Weld-Wood contact cement. You can find it just about anywhere.
