Saw this gadget in Lowe's, then on TV.  It is essentially a jigsaw that has been fixed upside down in a small table.  Here's a link

My lovely wife has offered to get me a band saw for x-mas.  But would this be a better tool for bow building?  It uses jigsaw blades.  I'm thinking it won;t work well for cutting my own laminates.  Would the grating type jigsaw blade handle the fiberglass in limbs though?

Any thoughts on this?  Any one have one? At the moment I' still thinking a band saw is the better tool for bow building.  But I'm always curious about new gadgets.

Thanks,

It's nice but you need a 14 inch 1 1/2 hp bandsaw.

I agree with Roy. Jigsaw blades can deflect to one side on tough cuts, giving you an off square cut. They can also burn hard woods, unlike a bandsaw.
