Anyone try both? How do they compare. I realize that they are not exactly the same but I'd still like opinions.

Leon shows up at the Baltimore shoot every year, and Steve told me he would be there too. Why not attend and try both?

I have not shot a Baraga yet, but I have two morphs of the Slammer, and love them. Both bowyers are top notch. I just got a Shelton from Steve, and it gives me hope for me and Hill-style bows. Clean lines and fine workmanship from both men.

Ive shot the northern mist a few times. Ended up with a different bow because of a great deal i got but the baraga is a great bow. super smooth and pretty darn quick.

I've owned both bows. I preferred the Mist over the Slammer for the reason I had a better shootability with the Mist. It was one of those bows that just put the arrow where you were looking without effort. The Slammer was a quiet bow,and had a tad less bowhand shock than the Mist, but I never shot it well. No matter where I set it up at (brace, nock height, arrow set-up) it was not consistant for me. rat'

I have shot both, both are great bows, just kind'a like comparing apples and oranges. I happen to be a Northern Mist fan and own 3, one of which is a Baraga. The Stewart I shot was quick and silent.
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Never shot a Stewart, but have 2 Baragas. Steve builds a great bow. It would be best if you could try both. Not all bows "fit" everyone the same.

Baraga. My wife just received hers. It is awesome.

The Slammer is one of the few bows out there that if its all you ever have you're not really missing anything.
