According to Black Widow their longbows will 'shoot a heavy arrow as fast as our recurves." Can anyone verify this?

When you look at the testing Blacky Schwartz has done on Widow's their longbows are only a couple fps behind the recurves with a 9 gpp arrow. All of their bows are pretty fast bows and smooth shooters. I have shot almost every model except the pch and kb and that has been my experience.

Have had both and I don't think their is a noticeable difference, however I did not shoot them through a chronograph.

I have had both an MA11 and a PLGA. Both same weight, both shot the same 2117 arrow.
To me the recurve was just a litle quicker.
However I sold the recurve and kept the long bow because I shoot it better.

Thanks guys. I have a PSA, but like the looks of the longbow more and more.

i had a 64" plv and a 60" psa of the same weight (60@28) and through a chrno the PSA was about 5 ft quicker with the same arrows that were pretty pretty close to 10gpp i have since sold the plv and pretty well just shooting the PSA, i cant imagine a better hunting bow for me...but that PLV was the best longbow i have ever owned.. wish i hadnt sold it.

the longbow built by Lee Robertson will shoot as fast as many recurves as well...I shot one of his first bows with the heavy reflex/deflex design and it was shooting every bit as fast as my recurves for most part.
i dont doubt the heavily r/d bows are doing the same especially with the narrower limbs and use of carbon laminations.

See the bows in sig below. All three bare shaft carbon and aluminums equally. The sax and plx are equals on all levels in my opinion. The sax is just as quiet as the plx now that i have tuned it properly. I have grand intentions of objectively testing these and posting results when I find a good deal on a chrono. For the time being I just enjoy shooting them. TG.

wish I had a chrono, I have a PSA and PL both 53 @ 28. They seem pretty darn equal to me.

I just got a PL, after owning an LAG, SA, PCH and TF, all within a pound or two of draw weight. Honestly, I think the PL shoots as hard or harder than any of them. There's carbon in the limbs, and this (along with the addition of an SBD skinny string) may be why. No chrono, but it's pretty apparent to my eye.
