Then this little button buck hung around my tree for about 10 minutes Saturday morning.

Then he just wandered on up the road.

I also had visits from a red fox and a large mink, but I wasn't quick enough to get the camera out for them.

Mr. Big was rather more elusive than the little fellas. Hope to see him soon though. Here's some of his handiwork!

I've seen him twice, but couldn't get a shot. The first encounter was about 40 yards from this rub, but the light was fading and he was quartering to me just a bit too much at about 25 yards. The next morning I could see some twiggy branches that didn't show in the dim light of dusk. Chances of hitting one of them would have been too high, so I'm glad I didn't make a stupid attempt.

Is that a deer racetrack? Your deer have banked turns.  :biglaugh:

No, the farmer who owns the ground has ATV trails all over. He uses it to check his traps and to just cruise around in the woods. He and some of his buddies shotgun hunt, but since my cousin has land adjoining it, he lets us bow hunt his too. It works out because then he can gun hunt my cousin's ground.

BTW, the deer seem to love the ATV trails, as you can see in the pictures.

Yup, somebody sure had good taste! I love the shot of the spike framed by my Orion.

I'm having fun. I suppose I should shoot something pretty soon though       I could have had several young bucks or does on the ground, but I keep thinking that big boy will give me that one opportunity.

BK - Glad you and that bow are getting along. I think I may just take the Kanati next time. I need a change of luck. I just wanted to baptize the Orion...and also see how those big left bevel Grizzlies work on whitetails. I already know Zwickey Deltas out of my Kanati don't slow down for deer      Hope you get your chance this week.

That's a lot of fun having them that close! I left my bow on it's hook but acted out a draw and release on a doe and a forky yesterday AM. I seen to many big ones to shoot a little one just yet. Good luck to ya Russ!

My tracking skills are improving.  I can see where that deer passed!

Nice shots.

It's easier when they're bleeding though.   :bigsmyl:

I would be holding out for Mr. Big also, by the looks of that rub, he's worth waiting for...

Gotta love it. What kind of trail is that? Horse? Motorcycle?
