Here are some pics from stump shooting in a relatively seldom used parcel in southeast NJ.  Tom(deadbolt), Dave-who is a relatively new to archery but picking it up at a lightening quick pace, and I decided to get out and do some shooting.  The blueberries were absolutely ridiculous.  Hundreds of acres of them, almost all ripe.  In some places they were taller than my chest.  We busted through some places to check out potential hunting spots and since it rained early in the morning we got soaked for our troubles.  Tom was shooting great today with his Black Widow.  So good that numerous ticks decided to come to the show.  Stumping has definitely improved my confidence, and hopefully my shooting as well.  Great to get outside on a somewhat dreary day.

Nice pet. I used to have one of those. ..... Oh, wait ... what's this on my neck?      :banghead:

Hey deadbolt,

Try buying some permetherin in a large containerin concentrate form, then add 4 or 5 ounces to a a couple of gallons of water and soak your clothes in this stuff for an hour then ring out and let dry on your clothes line, you will not have any ticks on you, also treat your hat and wear rubber knee high boots with your pant legs tucked inside. You will not have any problems with ticks at all.
A good clean kill or a good clean miss...I thank the Lord for both!

Izzy

Nice shootin fellas, looks like a blast.Good thing you had that leg shaved otherwise youda never saw that tick til it was too late.  :D

It was actually on his arm.  Wouldn't stand still very long either.  Guess he was camera shy.

Hey Pat when I saw that first picture all I could think, is you never know what you'll find hanging around in the woods   :bigsmyl:  I hope he didn't end up following you home.
