Limb Trapping

If you trap a limb for weight reduction how far up and down the limb would you make the trap? from the limb overlay all the way to the tip? and 1/8" to 1/4" seems typical correct?
looking to shed some weight, closer to 10# if possible, without destroying a good set of limbs.

Kinda depends on how it looks strung and where you want it to bend more.

If bending like you want, I go 2" outside of fades and 2" inside nock and have room to blend trap back into the full width and stay off fade and nock.

About 4# is what I get trapping, and 2-3 by narrowing limb (D/R) so if I'm 10 over I prob have to sand the flat of glass a bit...

Not slow at all... get after it with 80 grit on a palm sander, 2 or 3 swipes per side. Done deal...
