What do you guys think of a Rigid Jointer?  Are there better ones out there for the same cost?

I bought a Delta that was comparable to the Rigid in power and features. I did allot of on-line searching and found the Delta had great reviews. I love mine. You can whip out a board bow in 2-3 hours with a tuned up jointer.

If I were in the market for a good jointer for the best price, I would look to buy an older  (Pre 1980) Delta.  The beds and gibbs on the older ones are of much better quality.  I have seen some of these go as cheap as $100 for a 6" floor standing unit.

I have a Rigid. Believe it is the 13 1/2". Don't know the model # off hand but can get it for you if it is important.I bought it used and it's been a great machine.I recently added the adapter that goes on the chip chute and connects to my dust collector.Makes the job a lot cleaner.
Take care,
Ed
