...on a BBO bow. How critical is it? I glued this up over a year ago evidently thinking it would be ok, but now I'm questioning my judgement. It is to be the prize for winning a tomahawk throw. I don't want any problems. He would have his bow faster if I went ahead and finished this bow but he may have a safer bow if I used another glue up. There are also longitudinal (sp) cracks in the bamboo backing. So what do you all think?

My bet is the bamboo will throw up a splinter before your even done tillering it. I have made several BBO bows. I'd start another bow.

Thanks Roy. I think I'll go ahead and finish it and shoot it myself until it blows. I don't want to take any chances when I'm giving it away.

If it throws up a splinter, you can wrap it with sinew. As long as it's not too bad:) Best of luck.
