So, what is the shortest red oak bow that you have made with or without a handle?

4est trekker

I once built one that was six inches long...it shot short pieces of bamboo skewers for arrows...I don't suppose that's what you're referring to, though    :biglaugh:
"Walk softly...and carry a bent stick."

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him."  Col. 3:17

4est I thought I was the only one that had done that. Also used skewers. I got bored one day and made some mini arrows out of straws. Yeah I did the whole 9 yards and also used straws with thumbtacks epoxied in. Maybe I have it bad? I know the field mice didn't like the arrow's though. Well at least 2 of em. Little boggers are fast. Good shootin.
Shoot straight and keep the heads keen

lol. ive built a 61" overall bend through handle red oak bow, 50#@27" 1.5" tapered to 1/2" at the nocks. im guessing thats probably the shortest most people would say you could get away with building out of red oak for a draw thats 27-28". mine shoots great though with a slightly underspined arrow or one thats a little long and a tad extra heavy up front.
