I have been wanting a longbow with a recurve style grip. Has anyone shot both ACS and toelke Lynx?

I have.  I had the 2 bows -- borrowed -- side by side for several weeks, although I was busy and didn't have as much time to shoot as I'd hoped.  The ACS was 64", the Lynx was 66", both were longbows, around 45-50# if I remember right.  Both bows were were impressive, and I would buy either model if I had the chance.

To me, the Lynx had that "old friend" feeling, and would be the bow I'd prefer out hunting.  The ACS had a more sophisticated feel to me, as if for the more technical shooter.  Draws were very very smooth out to 31" on both bows.  A friend of mine, just getting into trad archery, who shoots a Herters one-piece recurve, shot them both and drooled over both of them.

Both ACS and Toelke are very high quality bows with solid reputations.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

I have owned both bows and pretty much agree with Archie's review.

Toelke is more forgiving of minor errors in shooting form (bad release, etc.), has good speed and is exceptionally quiet.

ACS is a little bit faster pound for pound, will tune a little easier being cut past center, is quiet but not as quiet as the Lynx, and is a bit pickier of shooting form.

All things considered my personal choice would be the Lynx, but that is just me, shoot both if you have the chance.

I've shot both too, and can't think of any thing to disagree with or add to above.

Had a few of both and really enjoyed them.....but I still have my Lynx.  The gentleman above are spot on.

Have owned both and now shoot and hunt with only Toelke's.
