Good luck NY bow hunters. Our early northern zone archery season starts tomorrow (09/27). I'm heading for the mountains this morning. Post any hunting stories and pics if you can. Most importantly, stay safe, enjoy the season, and wear a safety harness if and when you are in your tree stand! :archer2: :archer2: :archer2:
Good luck Ron and be safe everyone! :campfire:
Good luck , lots of nice bucks around this year.
Y'all have fun, good luck
Good Luck to all my fellow NY'ers. Season here in the Southern Zone opens Thursday 10/1
My Hidden Hunter blind has been out and brushed in for over a week. Be safe!
Well and safe wishes for you NY Bowhunters.
Shick
I Wish everyone an enjoyable and safe season. Jawge
Hope you all have some great hunts and can share some stories and pics. I had back surgery at the beginning of the month and I'm working my way to a hunting bow (doctor says I can start drawing a light bow , yea!) so I don't know when I'll be hunting . I'll be looking forward to everyone's adventures even more this year .
Good luck boys. Myself I'm a little apprehensive. Many of my areas are in or near the EHD zone.
Good Luck, Brothers!!!!
I'll be headed over to the cabin next weekend.
Now that I'm Retired.... All I have is time!! :archer:
Good luck to you this season our season in the Catskills doesn't start until Thursday 10/1
Good luck guys! May your arrows fly true.
Good luck to all you guys! Stay safe and have fun!
We're finding ALOT of dead deer from EHD here in the Hudson Valley. I'll be doing a majority of my hunting in Delaware County. Good luck guys.
Wonder how many "Southern" guys got lucky today... :archer:
Out for the first time today. Saw one 7 pt and two does. I found a dead buck in a creek fifty yards from my stand. I am suspecting is the disease affecting our area.
Is that down in Rockland Cnty area.
Regardless it should be cold enough soon to kill off the nats that carry that disease.
Good luck and be safe.
Took this doe with my latest selfbow. 64" ntn 44#@27". Good luck everyone, stay safe out there!

Outstanding Rick🏹
Congratulations rick! Nice doe
I had an encounter with a beautiful 8pt today but he stepped on a 4 leaf clover oh well...
Congratulations, Rick!!!!! :archer:
Lookin' good, Rick. Congratulations.

Congrats rick. Good luck everyone. I wasn't aware there was an EHD outbreak in NY. Yikes.
Congrats!
Neither was I Charlie! Had no idea what it was...
And I LIVE here??!! :dunno:
Hmmmm...??
Been kinda quiet around here.... :dunno:
I have been out four times. In those times I have seen 6 or 7 deer, 3 nice sized bucks and the rest doe.
None of which I could get close enough to get a shot off, and I've only spooked one of them off so far( first year on the ground) mostly still hunting with a little spot and stalk. Or I should say spot and reposition into their line of travel...just hasn't worked out YET.
I only hunt from the ground, anything higher than a barstool, gives me a nosebleed :scared:
Congratulations Rick!
OK NY bow hunters what's the deal ? You going off grid here ; nothing but crickets ! I know you guys are out and my phone has friends sending pics of some pretty nice bucks being taken so lets hear some stories. I'll even start. I got my back to where I could get out by the 3rd week and after getting busted on the ground numerous times I got some help with a ladder stand and took an 8pt the first morning in it. 19 yard shot, 43lb recurve, Magnus 2bld, double lung and done. It was last Friday and he came charging in after 2 does. I feel bad but my poor wife had to drag him out ! Ok..next !
CONGRATULATIONS, Marvin!!!!! :clapper: :archer: :clapper:
Glad your back's getting better!! Bad backs SUCK!!! Years of hard work, in bad weather, mine is shot...
Can't sit for more than an hour, and tree stands are out of the question! I get in, sit awhile, can't get out!! LMAO
That's OK, I like to walk. Been over the mountain a few times... Nothing yet though. But I'm out there!!!
Congrats marvin!
Took this 6 point with one of my selfbows this afternoon.
