very nice!
Very nice!
I'm going to need to shoot one of these at the Expo. My first longbow was an original Shrew, a 1994, stopped in to Ron's shop looking for an old recurve to try out traditional bows and he sold me a Shrew. Loved it but later found that I shoot longer bows much better. This 60" Classic II has my attention.
Good looking bows.
Very nice cant wait to try one
What a riser on that Classic Hunter!
Beautiful.
What am I missing? What's 3. @31" mean?
I was wondering about the meaning of "3. @ 30" And "3.1 @ 30" also.
Nice bows

The draw force curve on the two new Super Shrew bows produced by Bodnik bows for Ron draw a super smooth even draw all the way out to the listed pound per inch at 30"
These pictures don't do the "new" Shrew bows justice.
In camp this year I messed around with several prototypes that Henry brought. As I have said before, I am not going to post pictures because while each bow was EXCELLENT, their were tweaks Ron made that brought them in line with his design.
I left camp with 3 of the prototypes, and had put an order in for a new L'il Favorite.
These bows flat out SHOOT. Easy to quiet. The grip...which I believe to be the greatest Shrew attribute...is as ergonomic as a grip can be. I have not shot Shrew's in awhile, and I forgot how the grip causes the bow to just become part of your hand. I shot those bows like I had owned them for years.
These bows are flawless in quality of manufacturing, they shoot and handle exactly like Ron has designed, and they are AVAILABLE. If you have ever been on the waiting list for a Shrew, you know what that means.
This is a new era for Ron LaCair, and I couldn't be happier for him.
WOW! They look great.

Beautiful bows for sure.
Never saw bows talked about in these terms, so do the numbers mean draws 3 pound per inch to 30" or starts to elevate to 3 pounds per inch at 30"? Just trying to learn. Thanks
UH-OH, I feel a bow order brewing!
I'm a sucker for short hybrids and the shape of that Classic Hunter II is sweet...
Apparently l've been out of the loop for a while... where or from who do we order one?
Ron will be taking a pile of Lil Favorite's to the Kalamazoo expo in January
I would like to shoot one at 40#'s. I just don't think I could swing a new bow at this time.
Send me a free one and I'll text it!
Mike, what's your cell number, I'll text you one. :goldtooth:
Dang sell check .I ment test!

Looks good buddy. 👍👍

Looking forward to shooting one in Kalamazoo...low to mid 50#s preferred :goldtooth:.

.
Sorry I'm a bit perplexed at the moment.
What would the standard (base) wood options be for the riser and limbs if you do not upgrade to exotic woods.
Thanks
There's not going to be a standard or base wood option they'll be all one price except the sleeve take down is extra.
Young Marine it looks like the Little favorite gains 3.5 pounds per inch going from 31 to 32 inch draw.
That's very good for a bow that's only 54 inches in length. You would probably notice it.But it may not bother you at all.Especially if you are not overbowed. You might want to order one a few pounds lighter than you typically shoot. With a 32 inch draw you are gonna have a ton of power even in a lower poundage that you typically shoot.
I have had a few bows that stacked a bit but shot fine for me when I was drawing 30".3.5 pounds an inch at 32 inch draw aint bad at all IMO.Five or 6 pounds an inch would be very noticeable and you would not feel as smooth, easy or as comfortable reaching anchor that last inch.
I have hunted a lot with longer bows and they can be more of a hassle in some hunting situations as you have expressed.I have tried a lot of short bows and have found some that are very agreeable in terms of smoothness, stablity and shootability.
Hope that helped?
I want one!
When can I put an order in?!?
Get this, Ron calls me because of my post about being perplexed. He was worried I was upset over something, and all I was perplexed over is I don't own one of his bows.....yet!!!!
Nice bows Ron, What are the risers made of? those red bows sure have a lot of figure in them.
Yes, thank you for clarifying!

Ron's going to be off line for a few days so I'll post this link to Kustom Kings website. Bear Paw products is producing the Super Shrew bows now and they have this new riser material that looks fantastic

This is exciting. I am looking forward to seeing the new Shrews for sale.
So Ray , it's not real wood ? Or at least a solid piece of wood.

I'd like to confirm this as well? From the information that I can find so far, there doesn't appear to be a solid wood option at all on the Shrews which is kind of a bummer to me.
More information will be out soon, however some of my favorite risers have been phenolic and Diamondwood which makes for a heavy, stable riser. As Roger Norris said, the Super Shrew Lil Favorite prototypes Henry brought to camp for Ron's critical review were great shooting bows. I can't wait to get one in my stable.
Ok thanks Ray, I'll have to check them out at Kzoo. I also like a heavier rizor bow.

Unfortunately, I think this is the future of bow building. As more and more popular bow woods are added to the CITES list banning international import/export, raw materials for bow building are going to dwindle.
:(
How about this bow that Henry made, White Macassar riser and veneers.

Dang...that white Macassar is pretty awesome. And that's coming from a guy who spray paints everything :biglaugh:
Roger, I'm thinking of calling it the Siberian Tiger Shrew
(http://www.shrewbows.com/rons_linkpics/Siberian-tiger-2.jpg)
That' a great name Ron
Looks good, loving the black and white. Ron, can you confirm whether this will be a standard and available color option? The riser options that you posted elsewhere didn't include this one.
Also, can you confirm that all of the Shrew risers will be made using "save the rainforest" wood which I believe is laminated birch?
More information be forthcoming :readit:

Ok fair enough....thanks Ron.
I could have used that up here in the north!!

The risers are Laminated birch, like the old Dymondwood, and birch IS real wood. It is resin impregnated so it is heavier and stronger than all natural wood. Accent stripes add to the strength and eye appeal of the bow.
Oh ok thanks for clearing that up. Sounds like a nice bow, have to check them out.
Wow, gotta stop looking at that! I had a classic hunter a few years ago that was sweet, but I ordered it a little too heavy (my bad). I foolishly sold it, and I felt sick packaging it up to ship. Kinda the same feeling that I had when I had to bury my dog. almost! :banghead: I always wanted to try a Lil favorite.
What are the woods of the riser on the far left?
