Pellet smoker turkey

I'm wanting to cook out Thanksgiving turkey on my pellet smaker/grill.  I've had good luck with pork roasts and venison steaks on it and wonder if there is a proven process I should follow.  Will be cooking a ham at the same time.

I've not heard of that method.
Last year my son deep fried a turkey in peanut oil...it was amazing!

Frying is good if you have the equipment and the experience but then getting rid of the oil, bthe clean up . . . Nah.  Been there and swore never to again.

It was great...we ate and then went home :biglaugh:
I'm sure there was a lot of cleanup, but we never saw it!

I haven’t done a turkey, but am planning to do one in the near future I was looking at utube videos online about smoking turkeys on the pellet grill, quite a few there. I’ll probably brine it first put some rub on it and put it on the grill
Good luck and let us know how it turned out.

The only way that I will eat turkey is deep fried.  I am not a fan of the bird any other way.  I brine it for 2 days, then put into the oil.  Perfect every time, juicy and flavorful meat, and all skin a super crispy.  Also, the bird is done really fast, 2.5 minutes per pound, and not taking up any oven space.  As far as clean up, I filter the oil, and use it throughout the year, so it does not go to waste.
