Bow Give Away to Infantryman
« on: November 17, 2012, 12:30:00 AM »
Hello all, my name is Tom and I am an Army Infantry Veteran. Served in Afghanistan at OP Restrepo and was wounded in 2008. Due to my injuries I needed a new hobby that was low impact. I picked up a bow and years later I'm more obsessed with it than ever before. I would like to give a bow to a fellow Infantry Veteran. I know its specific but I am really big on supporting fellow Vets, especially those Infantryman like me. I only require you to pay the shipping and send me pictures of anything you hunt with it. I'll decide next Friday who will get this bow, its a real beauty. Would love to help a fellow Infantryman upgrade or get into archery all together. I expect whoever does get this bow is honest and is going to use it and not sell it for profit. Here's the bow I'm willing to give:

62" Sky Longhorn
50# @28"
Burl Wood Limbs, unknown riser wood, gloss finish

A big salute to all 11Bs, from an old (and I do mean old) chopper driver. I have the deepest respect for you grunts. I hope your bow finds its way into the hands of another brother of the "Queen of Battle".

Outstanding Thare. This is what I love to see from fellow servIce members. It shows the humanity, compassion, selfless qualities that SHOULD be within all who serve their nations. This one small act highlights our professional soldiers. You have only increased my pride in being a vet.

I've made an early decision. Congratulations to Manu (Mark), this beauty is yours. After emailing back and forth with him I found out he deployed to the same place as me in Afghanistan, my unit actually replaced his. Just seems meant to be. And Mark, don't forget to post a pic my friend. Thanks everyone!!!

Mark, you got other trad gear? There's a cordovan tab, here, if you need it. Thanks for your service, young man. I was a cannon-cocker back when we were shooting 105's, towed a behind deuce and a half. Not much hearing anymore, but I had a good time at it.  James
Longbows, you see, do not make mistakes…there is no tuning to distract attention from the task at hand or provide excuses when arrows wind up in places we did not ask them to visit.
