North Georgia Deer Hunting

I am returning to archery after a long time away. I would like to know if anyone bow hunts on the Chattahoochee National forest? Any suggestions about which areas to scout and hunt.

I've hunted WarWoman near Clayton for a number of years.  Pretty good population of deer with some big bears as well.  The former Coleman River WMA, now just part of the forest, is very pretty, remote, and good spot for bear.

At WarWoman, drive to end of Finney Creek Road then walk up the closed road, some green fields and a nice hardwood ridge at the top with some promising spots.  Leave the roads behind and climb up Rock Mountain for a great view and more good spots.

Go all the way to end of Sarah Creek road and hike up the closed road for a pretty place with lots of hardwoods, also take a closed road to the left before the very end of Sarah Creek road and find a couple of good green fields.  Take good legs and lungs with you, you'll need them.

Hope this helps.
