Title: Tradgang rabbit cleaning video
Post by: TexasStick81 on December 20, 2015, 05:34:00 PM
I had the tradgang DVD at one time with the fast rabbit cleaning clip.  I've lost the video, do we have it posted digitally anywhere?

There was also an excellent one on here that was put out by a state conservation office, I want say it was Pennsylvania, but I can say that for sure. Did you do a search?

You don't need to cut a slit in the skin to start though. Just grab the skin with both hands on top of the back and pull hard. it just comes right off, all the way to the head in one direction, and all the way to the tail in the other.

My grandfather used to do it so fast without a knife that you would blink it would be done.

He'd grab it on the back fur and pull like Bisch said and then he'd grab the legs with the belly down and pull and bend and the guts would fall out.
A quick run on his hand and it was done.
He was a chef by trade and was very handy.

I never mastered his technique and always used a knife.

LOL, it does take a big knife!  Thanks for the links guys.  I often pass on a rabbit shot because I don't want to mess with cleaning them but I know it can be done quickly.

Check it out guys. It's worth the money. I guarantee you'll laugh and may even learn something.

As a kid dad and I trapped rabbits around the house.
We had a skinning wall in the garage that consisted of two nails at eye level.
Poke the rear legs on each nail.
Pinch and peel fur/skin down each leg
working all the way down.
stop at head and work rest down front legs.
But of head (and coat)
Clean out cavity
Have a 5 gallon bucket for scraps (or a beagle)

Terry,
I went to the page but it appears that you can only mail in an order. You mentioned it as a paypal site, so I assumed a purchase could be made electronically. Am I in the wrong spot?
