Title: Anyone seen a Treadway like this?
Post by: Biathlonman on December 19, 2015, 03:30:00 PM
Just got this one in the mail today.  Really unique takedown system, that I really like.  Not nearly as radical R/D as Mike's current offerings.  Anyone have any info, hate to bother Mike on the weekend.

I believe that is one of the take down systems that Mike came up with.
I have an older Treadway bow I bought in 1998 or 99. It is a one piece R/D style but with mild R/D.

I have seen that system on Mike's bows.  He has invented several methods of constructing take down bows.

So is that a bolt or screw type thing in the front that holds it together? I have a Bow built by Mike and it's one of my favorites. I'd like a 2 piece........

Yep, a pretty substantial bolt that screws in the front that holds the whole system tight. It's screwed about half way out in that first photo.

Neat, how about mass weight.....maybe more or less than a bow bolt?

I'd say it's probably about the same as a bow bolt.  Brass is pretty heavy as is the bolt.

I saw one at Cloverdale many years ago,I think it was back in the late 90's.

I think it would cool with an antler nob.

It's got moose antler on the front of that nob.

I looks incredibly solid but personally I think it looks awful as far as aesthetics.

I love Treadway bows but will stick with his 1pc bows

Mike is using the same takedown system as Big Jim and Black Widow now.

Do you mean that Big Jim and Widow are using Mike's take down systems.
I bet Mike has come up with at least a half dozen different take down systems.

No, I asked him.  Apparently Mike has adopted the carbon sleeve type system like Big Jim uses.
