Title: Walnut and Koa Big Jim Buffalo
Post by: Alexander Traditional on December 14, 2015, 04:10:00 PM
I got a three piece from Jim a couple of years ago,and liked it so much I wanted to get another, and really make it over the top. Well I think he succeed on it. The only difference in this one and the other one is I tried a 66" on this one and the other one is a 64"

The back of the riser and back of the limbs are the figured walnut, and the belly of the riser and limbs are the koa.

Sure let me take some more pics. I'm so excited. I just called in and a gal up there that likes me gave me a personal day even though we are out of men. I'm running around all over. Let me get them up Randy.

Big Jim is a truly gifted Boyer. I admire my buffalo every time I look at it!
Amazing looking bow a Rick I know it probably shoots as good as it looks!

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm headed out on a stumping trip this morning, and maybe I'll see some game to. If I get a good opportunity I'll take some more pictures.

Beautiful wood combination. Walnut is an under-appreciated wood. Relatively light weight, strong and some of it, as in this case, is just beautiful. There is a good reason it's the wood of choice for quality gunstocks.

I never ended up going out stumping because I stopped at a buddies house. I got him into archery and showed him all I know and got his bow set up and tuned.

He said lets have a contest, lets see who can hit the deer target in the eye first. So we shot back and forth for a good bit, both of us hitting very close, and then finally I hit it dead center. This is with my new Big Jim bow that I just started shooting today. I absolutely love this bow!
