Title: My new Child was born.
Post by: Bryan Korte on December 13, 2015, 09:30:00 PM
Fedex dropped off a package yesterday. My name had finally came up for my new Big Jim Thunderchild. And this is how it turned out. The guy can definitely put out some great looking bows. Its 44#@28" and 56". All black and white ebony, with boo cores and springbok tips and overlay. Love the way these bows shoot.

Lol I'm thinking I'd have a really tough time letting this one go. Still have all my new ones I've ever bought. Thanks guys, this one is gonna be a shooter and a looker. The guy is a master at putting together great wood combos and some of the best wood veneers.

Beautiful bow! Black and white ebony to me is the prettiest wood. Jim builds masterpieces that not only look amazing but shoots that way also.

Wow, what a beauty!!!! How far can the 56" TC be drawn?
Title: Re: My new Child was born.
Post by: Bryan Korte on December 14, 2015, 02:45:00 PM
Well the labor pain was waiting for it to get here for sure. Says on my sheet it can be drawn to 30 inches. That's awesome for such a short bow.

Post by: BigJim on December 14, 2015, 04:46:00 PM
Glad you like it Bryan...it can be drawn til she pops  :)  but I would probably put the limit at 30". I shot my 56" at 30.5" for a year without an issue but moving to a 58' was more comfortable.

I now draw 32"s and find my 58" to be very comfortable...infact, I built a 60" and have been shooting it but don't find it to be any more comfortable than my 58".

Bryan, I expect to see a picture of that TC laying across the dead body of an Iowa Booner next year...Well, lets hope so.

Thanks, bigjim

Every time I see another Big Jim, it is as beautiful or nicer than the last.
How does he keep doing that?

I don't normally care for B&W ebony but that is a beauty. Matter of fact the only other B&W ebony bow I really liked was a Big Jim Buffalo bow.

He's definitely a master. I'm a stickler for the fit and finish when it comes to paying out that cash for a bow like that. Hate seeing sanding marks or uneven overlays. But you won't need to worry with him. I needed to own a black and white ebony bow after seeing a few out there.
