Our 2015 season was another great one for us here in Montana. We ended it with nine deer between 4 of us. My son Kory and I each took 2 does and a buck, and my son Boone took a doe, and Brian "Cheese" Noble killed 2 does. I took more video than pics this year again, but here is a quick snapshot of our success, some sunrises and sunsets....and in no particular order.

Congratulations on another great season in Paradise, Mark. Looks like the freezer is full for another year, as well as a season full of memories. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks everyone....always great having the boys hunting with me! Someone asked about the osage being from OJAM....not these ones, but I just built a couple from the stash I acquired there...and the boys all have another project from that same stash in the works.
Glad you all like the pics....we never take it for granted - where we live and are able to hunt.
-
Wow, thanks for sharing your hunts. Beautiful animals and country.
-
I always enjoy your posts. Congrats to all of you!
-
Good to see some great pictures! Really missed not being able to get over there this year.
Thanks,
-
Do you guys kill your deer out there using treestands or stalking?
-
We have the most success using treestands, but we will hunt on the ground quite a bit as well. We live in an area prone to some pretty big winds, and for long periods at a time, so trees are not always a good idea.
I did kill my second doe while sneaking to my treestand, from the ground at about 7 steps...didn't get a picture of her, but that was fun.
-
Nice looking bows. Congrats on all the good hunts.
-

-
Great having the freezer full going into the winter, thanks for sharing!
-
Mark, How long does it typically take you guys to make a new bow? Every time this thread comes out, I think to myself... "I gotta try that someday"
-
Awesome Mark.......I wait for your post each year about this time.
Amazing how the boys have grown into men over the years. So cool to see them still at with their Dad.
Merry Christmas buddy!
.
-
Hey Brad....I think when all is said and done, we have around 20 hours in a bow on average. Some take more. But it is spread out over time, so having said that, some take months! We like building them, and so it seems we always have new ones in the works...
Thanks Tim. One of my great joys is still being able to hunt with my boys. I hope they never get tired of hanging out with dad!
Merry Christmas everyone!
-
Where's the plaid? :bigsmyl:
Congrats on a successful season!
-
Hey Gun...truth is, I haven't found a plaid outfit that will cut the mustard when it gets really cold here. That means wind/snow/temps...you know the drill. I still use KOM, or other wools when it gets cold, but clothing designed for hunting is good clothing when your life can depend on it...it's not about fashion for us.
For those of you who know us, we have killed dozens of critters wearing plaids, jeans, or whatever through the years...I only bring this up because others have asked or wondered.
It's all about the bow and the "how" you hunt for us. Clothing is not really an issue, except it's functionability (not scentlock type crap) and plaids will work much of the time.
Right now, the Kuiu line is a great system that works all season for us, and everywhere we hunt, so that's what we "like" right now. We do have other clothes for the subzero stuff, on stand...and we still wear plaid too.
-
Wow! :archer2:
-
Good stuff!
I hope my next deer harvest is with a selfbow.
Congrats!
