2 orange hen with a white cock feather here. When I finally get a new batch made up I was thinking I would do yellow hen/red cock for my broadheads and flo yellow hen/orange cock for my blunts.
What are you using this season? What is your favorite?
Pink - purple - yellow or chartreuse? Pink is favorite I can see it good.
I like visibility.

red, gold & green: jah rasta!
bright orange
I've been using white and white barred for the cock feather, but made up a couple with yellow and yellow barred. I like them.......ALOT!!!!
Visibility seems to be about the same as white.
Good luck, shoot straight and God bless,
Rodd
I't seems like pink is considered by many to be the most visible color, while its not my favorite I always like to choose function over form. Especially when it comes down to finding a 13+ dollar a pop arrow.
I just might have to try some of those all pink arrows big jim sells one of these days.
White cock feather with yellow hens.
Blue & pink
Very partial to red and yellow.
Killdeer :archer:
After years of using bright colors I have changed to autumn type darker colors. I am convinced deer can see the white flash of my feathers. I just made a doz sitka spruce using dark ebony stain, black nock black cock feather and two barred grey actually pretty cool.
Turkey fletch all 3
Orange hens. Red cock
Triple orange
White with chartreuse barred and pink spiral flu flu
Well my most recent sets of arrows have been whatever I had.... right wing or left wing, doesn't matter.l White, Blue Brown, Green, Chartreuse on and on. haven't had a matching set of fletching in about 3 years. Of course that only accounts for 2 dozen arrows.
2 white & 1 tree yellow 4" paraboilic.
Bisch
Bright blue cock feather, Flourescent pink hen feathers. 2 colors almost never found on the ground on nature, and easily visible even in low light.
White or yellow. Thinking about red, but am a little concerned about seeing it in flight when shot in low light conditions.
My last set was white and white barred, I like them a lot.
I use 3 white or 3 flo. yellow. I like 3 the same color, like looking at a white or yellow ball flying to the target. And I splice diff. colors in.
For me with a diff. color cock feather it looks like the arrow is flipping on the way to the target.

All white usually did however use all orange this year.
I kinda like to use bright red wraps with flo yellow fletches. They really show up.

ChuckC
Lately it,s been black index with two red barred hens.
Two chartreuse hens and one chartreuse barred cock feather.
Grey,yellow,and orange barred.
One red barred and two natural barred on white crown dip with white nock.
Couple years back I settled on a standard for hunting deer: red cock, yellow hens, yellow nock. Crown is a yellow leather stain and the shaft is pecan stain.

Chartreuse four fletch on a white crown, with transparent chart Bohning Classic nocks. Best low light visibility for my eyes.

Chartreuse hens, and traditional barred cock feathers.
I settled on red fletching years ago...used to do gray cock and red hen...but now just three red fletchings
There are exceptions when using goose feathers...or making up some primitive cane arrows with obsidian heads.
For my GO TO setup for past 20 years...darker stained douglas fir shafts...red barred fletching...flourescent green snap on nocks.

Two 4" pink and two 4" white.
Does anyone use a different fletch for their blunts than they do their BHs?
All three green barred. Sometimes I throw a traditional or yellow barred cock feather on there too. Mostly just to remember which arrows are which.
I was unaware there was a different color than pink or white.. ;)
I shoot whatever I have, but i really like the look of pink. I like white also, but I think I like pink more now.
2 White Barred, 1 Red Barred...
One bright blue and two chartreuse for hunting.
Flow yellow fletch, flow yellow dip.
It depends on which bow I am shooting. For bows that shoot 50-55# spine arrows, I have orange somewhere in the color scheme. For 55-60# I have black and natural fletching. For the 75 - 80# spined arrows I use yellow. This is not yet totally uniform since I have lots of partial groups of arrows left over from arrow sets before I decided to color code them. Unfortunately, I have many arrows that haven't been used in so long, I don't remember the spine or the bows they were used with.

I'm with you there, Sam! :banghead:
I see bright yellow in flight the best, so I think that will be my go to hunting arrows from now on. I've tried white, white/yellow, orange, orange/yellow, yellow/black, pink, etc. Pink is easy to find on the ground, but I can't see it in flight for doodly squat. Bright yellow feathers with fluorescent orange nocks are the easiest for me to see in flight. I also use reflective tape for cresting, so if I do lose track of one, I can usually go back at night and find it. I don't think I've lost one since I started doing that, so I worry more about seeing the arrow in flight than on the ground.
BTW: my preferred color is orange...the color yellow feathers are after a pass-through the lungs of a whitetail!

Kinda. I have a few matched blunts to my hunting shafts and always carry two with me (and five broadheads) for stumpin mid-day. Or those damn red squirrels.
My small-game, stumping shafts I made up blue cock & shaft and yellow hens and nock. Fiebings Leather Dye, again. They show up good in the leaf litter and snow. These are Douglas fir.

I just fletched up a half dozen! Yellow cock feather with yellow barred hens. Look pretty sweet to me!
Whatever color the local Turkeys grow since my Turkey hunting buddy's keep me stocked up.

Either two yellow and one orange. Or one yellow and two orange
Shades of yellow/chartreuse are the easiest for me to follow, but I like green or orange barred best.

I'm really liking this color, but I haven't seen it anywhere since I scooped these up a while back from a shop that was closing its doors.

I ve been using a gray shaft with black crown and three black Fletch for winter small game. Show up good in the snow.
I'm all about pink for big game with one diversion a few years ago into a yellow cock with two yellow/ orange barred on a plain shaft.
For my eyes nothing stands out in flight like pink.
Pink on GT pink shafts for small game, but some of the above pic show works o art
White!

Orange/Orange Barred
red/red and natural barred
I use 2 5" green shield cut hens with a bright orange cock. My father used the opposite on his.
Two 4" pink and two 4" white.
x2
I use fluorescent yellow with one bow, and fluorescent orange for another. I use the same arrows for both bows just different spines so I use two colors to keep me straight. I use four fletch so I don't need a different color for a cock fletch.
For the last several years I have been using red and yellow. I think they look good and with a white nock I can see the flight of the arrow pretty well.

I also made up some spliced arrows that I like. These really show up well with the white feather tails and white nocks.

I use 3, 5" white shield cut with a white wrap. In snow, I use 3, 5" chartreuse shield cuts with a chartreuse wrap.
Four 4" yellow.
I have long been in love with yellow
I use 2 barred orange hens and a barred white cock and soon to switch to 2 solid orange hens and a barred white cock 5" shield cut.
Hot pink and chartreuse yellow/green fletching, with hot pick wraps.
For me nothing shows better than all white with a white wrap. I've tried pinks and yellows and have never been able to see them as good as white. I think white is just sharp anyways, especially when it's coated in pink/red froth.
I have used combinations of flo orange and chartruse for many years.
Using white fletching in PA is a good way to get yourself shot. We have early rifle for Jr's/Sr's plus inlines during the early season. Way too many trigger happy idiots around here.
I make my arrows orange for the most part but for small game hunting, I think I can see pink ever better.

Every set of arrows that I have, has a different fletching, wrap, or crest combo. I like making arrows too much to always make the exact same thing. LOL
I really like all yellow for all around looks, visibility, etc. All white is just classic and sharp! I have a set with 3 whites, and 1 natural turkey feather - those are really handsome too.
My "prettiest" arrows are some with orange dyed natural turkey feathers with a matching orange and yellow crest - those are beautiful to me, but very hard to see and impossible to find in the autumn leaves.
In terms of pure visibility - I have some done up in AMG "Lime" and those literally glow when spinning through the air.

2 white and 1 gray barred.

Chartreuse or Yellow and Black, anything but White. I don't like white anywhere on my arrows. I find very few things in nature that are pure white. It just seems to stick out like a sore thumb to me, even if game can only see shades of grey, they can still see pure white as a contrast. Just my .02
Yellow or white. Thinking of orange but I'm not sure how they would be in low light. It would be all orange with orange wraps and nocks.
I use natural barred this season. All 3. Never again
Way way to hard to see in last light. That's when I usually get shots. I'm going back to orange, chartreuse, or the like.
I have found I can pic up an flor orange nock in low light better than any other color.
I don't use yellowed red anymore . I love it but allot of leave on the ground in the fall here are that same yellow or red n it really hard to see.
2 pink and 1 natural barred shield cut
I've tried the all white, both cresting and feathers route before, but it wasn't as visible as I thought it would be? Also tried all red like Fred Asbell's arrows. Too many red colors in the woods during the Fall. Hot pink and chartreuse for me.

I was using Pink - sitting in a ground blind. A nice buck and a doe came up. Staring - from 15 yds. I was hunkered down, they stared for about 3min. Turned back in the brush and left. Puzzled, I left my bow there and went to see what spooked them. I knew they couldn't see me. But, in the setting sunlight those pink fletchings looked like Kleig lights. No more ! Now it's blue barred cock feather and 2 blue hen feathers on a lime green capwrap.
