Hi everyone! 1st I want to say thank you to all who contribute to the "trad gang" with advice, tips, and how to, you are unknowingly repaving a road back in time for me and many others I'am sure? A special thank you, and a tip of the bow to Tree Killer (Ron French) He makes all my arrows, has mentored me and given me lots advice along my 3 year journey. I am honored to be able to call him a friend! Thank you friend!
All pics were taken by me with iPhone 6plus.
I was starting to think this guy was going to be the only successful hunter? He had a chipmunk in his talons, and I think he started to eat it there in front of me, but I disturbed him when I moved to get my phone for pics??

I don't like to be moving or occupied getting something out of pack, in fear of getting caught off guard. But I could resist taking this pic, It was so cold I so wanted that sun to be on my side....

I had did a 3 part rattle sequence ~ @ 09:00, with no takers, and decided to try again @ ~ 14:00, mainly because I was so cold I wanted to warm up! The east wind had picked up around noon, so I didn't bother starting out with just tickling the horns, I gave two loud crashes of the "Black Rack" and then went as loud and as long as I could(maybe 1-2 mins.?) I had just got them separated when I see a deer come stomping into my setup all stiff legged and ears pinned back, and his tail purposely moving side to side with each step he took. My heart raced as I slowly moved to put the "Black Rack" back on the hook, but once I was able to get my "Mentor" in my hand, a clear calmness filled me as my fingers started put pressure on the string, I raised my bow arm with a slight can't, waist bent, solid anchor was achieved, laser like focus on the spot where the heart and lungs meet, burn, hold, more burning... the string was dropped cleanly and without thought. In the next millisecond I was willing to live with whatever transpired next, I had done everything like I had practiced over and over until my shot was pure, and this one was no different!
Blood trailing! The 3blade Wensel Woodsman did great and left no doubt where this animal would be....
