I purchased a Whisperstik Recon 47" made by JD Lund at 43@28 from here a few months ago for my son but he's not quite there yet, so I have been playing with it, it seems like a nice bow and I like it. My problem is that it did not have any documentation and the previous original owner said that he did not know for sure what the brace height should be either but I should not brace it over 7". I cannot seem to get it tuned and I don't want to go too far above 7", I have but now I have it back down to 7.25.
My problem is that I can't go to the source, the Whisperstik website is down, I've tried emailing JD Lund, etc. Does anyone else have one of these bows, suggestions, any documentation, recommendations, etc.?
It really is a fun bow to shoot and I do like it but it's not like my longer bows (all longbows) that I know what I can and cannot do without messing something up (my first recurve ever). I hope you understand and any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Michael
JD is taking a break from making bows. I used to have his phone number but can't find it now. Guessing someone here will see this and they will know how to get in touch with him.. Best of luck.
7" was Jd's recommendation for that bow. Shot great.
Jeff, yes, it does shoot great! I love the compactness, it's the perfect size to take anywhere.
It is very accurate as well, it really is like point, aim, and you hit the bull's-eye or vitals every time with authority. It's quite as well, my problem is getting rid of the hand shock, I have tried numerous arrows and arrow weights and I just can't get rid of the hand shock, it's not terrible but it's always there. Maybe it's just me being too picky but I can always get rid of the hand shock out of my longbows.
Is it maybe a recurve thing or is it just (me) operator error?
I like this bow so much that I may have to buy my son another one because I will probably keep it for myself.
Thanks again
