Title: Kuiu sale
Post by: Chris Pharr on November 19, 2015, 07:05:00 PM
Don't know if anyone's interested or not, but kuiu is having a 30% off sale for the next few days. I've got some of their gear, absolutely love it. Big step up from my old realtree stuff.  Check it out if your into that sort of thing

Does anyone know how long in the sleeves and body the jackets run . We normally wear talls and I see they don't offer tall clothes.

Don't really know about that. You'll have to look at their sizing charts. I normally wear a 36 waist pant, their 36 is sized at 35 I believe, kind of a slim fit I guess. I just ordered a new pair of 38 pants and a jacket in xxl. Normally that would b way to big, but my past experience with their clothes tells me they'll probably fit just right for a few layers underneath and b nice and roomy for early season deer and turkey this coming spring.

Looking for suggestions on a jacket suited to close range bowhunting. Also warmer for Nov/Dec treestand hunting, any recommendations?

Thanks,
David

Just bought 2 jackets and 2 1/4 zip layers from them. That's a good deal.

The kenai is quiet and warm. It does not pack down as small as the superdown however. The superdown is toasty but does not breath as well as the Kenai. I wear the Kenai under my Guide jacket when temps are in the 30's along with a couple of merino wool base layers. If it dips in to the 20's.. When arrive to my stand I will put my superdown on over one wool base layer, then my kenai followed by the guide jacket.

The superdown pant is an excellent choice IMO for treestand hunting in Nov./Dec. Combined with the guide pant and a merino wool base layer it gets the job done.

Thanks for the heads up. Called to place my order and although some things are sold out, they helped in suggesting equlivant replacements.

My first time using the stuff, but I went all in and qualified for free shipping. LOL

I just got off the phone with them. Everything I ordered is still in stock.  They did not really have a good answer as to why my order hasn't shipped yet, just said it's taking 1-3 business days to process orders with the sale. To be fair, the girl I talked to didn't sound like she was much over 18 and was probably twirling her hair while chewing bubble gum, just didn't strike me as the brightest bulb in the pack. Hopefully they'll get their poop in a group and get it done, seeing as how I got my order confirmation yesterday morning at, literally, 802 am Pacific time. 2 minutes after the sale started. Grrr. At least 3 rivers got my order out this morning that I put in last night. Thank you 3 rivers!

I got what I wanted from KUIU right when the clock started.  In about 4 minutes, lots of stuff was sold out and the website wasn't quite as cooperative.

My order shipped yesterday.

When talking with to the salesman he said it would probably ship within 1 to 5 days.  I told him not to worry, most of the gear is for my Alaskan moose hunt next fall.

I was looking at their super down jacket to wear as an insulating layer . Does anyone know if the outer fabric is noisy? Thanks.

I just ordered the 0 degree sleeping bag. If it is as good as they say the price with the 30% discount is a great deal. Anyone have any information on this bag?

Dave

Deffinatly noisy and not good for an outer layer when Bowhunting....
You'll need to have a soft quit layer over it.....
Windy/breezy days are less obvious on the noise factor.

I got one last year and use it under my Asbel Wool.
I prefure a slick layer under my wool so there's less friction when I move.  The slick outer fabric of the Super Downjacket is perfect for this.
Works good, and cold isn't an issue now!!!

Good solid buy for a warm layer

Got my gear this afternoon as well. Strangely, I got the shipment email yesterday when the shipment went out on Friday. Oh well, got my gear. High quality stuff. Can't wait to get back to the woods after some thanksgiving dinner later this week.

I must not be on the email list anymore because I never got a notification of the sale. Of course, the only thing I wanted was the gaiters and they're sold out. So no surprises there.

I put an order in at 8:00am and it didn't even have a fedX pick up until Monday at 4:30.  Then I hear some people have already got their orders.  I called and asked why and she had no answer just to say it can take up to 10 days.  Said maybe they processed small ones first and I said that doesn't even make any sense.  Very irritating.
