Good afternoon, I'm considering getting a new longbow.
Narrowed it down to Brian Wessel's Stickflinger hybrid. I own his recurve and absolutely love it, fits me like a glove. Never had a chance to shoot the Stickflinger he makes.
Other option would be a Toelke Whip HS. I have had a chance to shoot these, and are the only longbow i've been able to shoot w/o getting string slap.
Cannot afford both unfortunately.
Looking at performance and quietness, or people who have shot/own both.
Also any animals taken with either I'd love to see them.
Thanks!
I have not had a chance to shoot the Toelke but do own a stickflinger and love it.
Don't think you can go wrong with either but the Stickflinger will be closer to your TT curve in weight with a low, more slender grip. Mine is very forgiving, very fast, and whisper quite.
good luck!

Own two whips right now. Never owned a tall tines but love the look of them and eventually I might order one. The whips are the quietest longbows I have ever shot. I've owned several popular longbows and FOR ME the whips have been the quietest and plenty fast.
I literally just got off the phone with Dan Toelke, ordered a set of his longbow limbs for my Lynx. Mine be worth looking at as well, more of an apples to apples comparison.
My Stickflinger arrived a few weeks ago. I, too, had a recurve Brian made for me. I like the Stickflinger even better. I love it. Best bow I have owned so far. It is 62" 58#@28". Its a lefty. The riser is bocote and cocobolo, with bocote veneers on the limbs and moose antler tips. I also had the grip checkered. It is super quiet, dead in the hand and quick.
Hey Chad any pics by chance?
I just shot Biathlonman's Toelkes last week. If you didn't need anyone else telling you, they're machines. One of the smoothest draws Ive handled.
I just need to be able to buy both haha!
I'm heading to pick out my new pup here in a couple of weeks, going to stop by Toelke's shop on the way back and shoot a few different models.
Still have to get the money saved up, but seems easier to me when I have a goal in mind. Helps stay away from the new brewery across the street after work!
Anybody else shot both by chance?
Beautiful bow Jacob, it should serve you well!
