Hey all,
I just finished looking at the lineup for Bear. WOW! They have got some seriously great looking bows! I really can't say that I have a favorite, but that BLACK Super K is just gorgeous.
Now, back to the question at hand. Lets say that you can have any Bear recurve you want from this years line. Which one would you take and why?
If I was forced to pick, I am pretty sure I'd go with the Takedown because I have wanted one of those for such a LONG time. I don't want a wall hanger, I'd be shooting that baby. Taking it into the woods chasing pigs too.
Oh well...maybe some day.
Your turn.

For me it would have to be the "59 Kodiak." I have owned a couple of Bear bows in the past but the "Kodiak" is the only one that I have really ever wanted.
A "B" Handle, Kodiak T/D with #1 limbs!!!!!
After wanting & wishing, for over 40 years... I bought a Two-Tone "A" Handle with #1 limbs from Big Jim... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! :bigsmyl:
I've got the 59 and love it. It's thin handle works great for my hands and in my opinion it's a beautiful bow
TD. I have a 2012 B riser and love it. Big Jim is delivering a 2 tone riser to the house today :bigsmyl:
If I had the choice my pick would be the 59. For some reason, maybe old age, I want to go a little retro. That bow, wood arrows, and a back quiver from that era. Maybe find a leather cover Bear bow quiver to use for hunting as well.
'59. I'm a low wrist shooter.
I think I'd go with the Super K black beauty...just because it's so darn pretty
As much as I love the KMags and the Black SuperK I think I'd go with an A riser and make a 56" bow.
I'm with you on the takedown and the new ones feel real good. However, the black Super K shoots as good as it looks.
64" Super K..... green of course
I would like to shoot the new 59 kodiak. Trying to talk myself out of one. The 59 is what I have always thought a old bear bow was suppose to look like.
You are right. Some really nice lookin bows there. As much as i would want to own a 59, I would have to pick the Super Grizzly. Just love the lines of the Grizzly and that dark look is fine.
man hard choices, I would either go with the 59 or the super griz
Just made this choice myself.... To be fair the take down and the 59 were not in my price range. I shot the Montana, Grizzly, super grizzly, au sable, and martin savannah (I know its not a bear) and I ended up picking the good ole Grizzly.

I know the struggle. Heart says "brand new kodiak 59!!" pocket book says "used grizzly"
kodiak 59 is starting to catch my eye, but geez the price is way off for me!!
I keep holding out hoping they re-introduce the best bow they ever made, which is a 62" Grizzly.
Of the current line up, I would pick a B handle with #3 limbs. I Actually like the black riser over the two tone.
Why? I prefer longer bows and the availability of completely interchangeable limbs from multiple sources is attractive
Take Down first then any of the others , the TDs have treated me very well over the years...

I really like the 59 too. If I ever got one, it would have to be a USED one. Which brings me to a question...
What does a decent, USED 59 go for these days? I shoot RIGHT and between 45 and 50.
Same question for the Takedowns, both in A and B handles. I've never handled either one so who knows, I could end up wanting a B instead of an A.
I'm asking because I'd like to start putting a bit back here and there to save for one of these. I'd probably sell my 1971 Grizzly to raise more money towards it.
Thanks all.

If money were no option I would go for either the takedown or the 59.
The takedown so I would have the option to play with the length and weight all while keeping the same over all feel of the bow and the 59 because it looks cooler than james dean smoking 2 cigarettes at the same time.
love the 62' Kodiak...have 2 59's...theyre GREAT.!!!! Also have an original 67 1/2 Super K......avesome bow...but the 68' super K is great as well..!!!Did I mention the 60 Kodiak..???.....lol.....ok...those are MY favorites..
I have the TD and love it.
I would also like to have a '59. I was hoping Bear would bring them out in a 64" length but it doesn't look like this going to happen.
For those with a longer draw and have shot or own the '59, what are your thoughts on the 60" length? (I draw 30.5"),
Been shooting the takedowns since the '70s, so my choice would be a A risor takedown 2 tone, with either length of limbs.
The two-tone T/D, A riser with #3 limbs. The grip is perfect for me.
